I bought this battery isolator to install in my horse trailer living quarters conversion. I installed a 20ah Sealed Lead Acid battery to run various LED lights, a fan, and an electric water pump. I needed the battery isolator to keep from drawing down my truck batteries as the trailer battery discharged and finding myself stranded out in the middle of nowhere with a truck that wouldn't start. This battery isolator was easy to install, instructions were clear. It connects the trailer and truck batteries while the trailer battery is above 12.7VDC and disconnects it from the truck batteries when it drops below that. It disconnects with an audible click, but it is not bothersome, actually somewhat relieving to hear. When I start the truck, the isolator reconnects the battery to the truck system, allowing it to charge from the truck's alternator. Incidentally, when I have the trailer plugged into an AC outlet and the trailer battery is charging from the AC source, once the trailer battery reaches 12.7VDC, the isolator reconnects the battery to the truck system and my battery charger ends up charging the trailer and truck batteries to full. I have had this unit in operation for more than two months now with no issues. I am very pleased.

Ordered this in October, and got busy with the holiday season. Opened the packing. And all that was in the box was the fuses and the instructions with someones hand writing on it.Update review:Seller contacted me and sent another unit. Installed it last weekend and works perfect. Giving 5 stars because of customer support. Wish it came with longer wire.Thanks. Would recommend this to friends in overland community.

Just installed so can't comment on the durability, but it all seems to be decent quality material. I will mention my power cable did not come with battery terminals on its ends. Without those terminal ends and needing an additional 4 terminals to wire in the fuse holders, I ran short and had to make a trip to the hardware store mid-install which was annoying and takes some of the value out of this all-in-one kit.

Put these on my bass boat to charge the trolling motor batteries when the main engine is running without running down the primary battery. It saves a long walk home across the water.

I installed a second battery in my boat to isolate the starting battery from the accessories battery. This will insure that the starting battery is charged and ready to start the outboard motor after a long day on the water running electronics and other accessories. I used a digital volt meter to monitor when the isolator closed and opened to make sure that the accessories battery also gets charged when the outboard is running. Worked perfectly.

I don't normally do reviews but this is junk. we build extra duty police cars and emerg vehicles. ie officers and firefighters cars. the batteries power radios such. this was for an escalade ext the only thing in it was tablet. first one lasted about a year figured it was bad got the next one it lasted 2 months. its a product that uses a sensing circuit to know when to connect the 2 batteries to charge vie 6 gauge wire. so we do know how to build these and its not worth the trouble of the 24 bucks. now have to find a better one redo the truck wires again and make new mounting. find a better one before you start.

As in alot of the post evryone complained about the green light not working so they dont know if the thing is actually working. But i bought it anyway sand to no supersize the green light dont work. I guess my own fault.

It was much easier to install than the original Pain Less system in stalled years back. No additional switches required or to worry about switching between batteries during operation. Works very well so far on both batteries.
