Connex 7R8 6/7/8 & Single Speed Long Lasting Bike Chain 1/2 x 3/32 - 112 Links

This is one tough chain for a single speed bike.

My first observations were that this chain is much more heavy duty than standard chains and the pin ejection pressure is much greater than chains such as those made by KMC and Shimano. My short term review would conclude that this chain operates well and although slightly noisier than a standard chain at first, after a short break in period it was just like any other chain. Based upon my observations and other reviews this chain will last longer than most other comparable chains by most other manufacturers. I have only had a months experience with this chain so I cannot give a long term review.

You will need to either burn a link cutting this chain or have a special chain tool that does not have areas for chain to drop into (this chain has too large of links for that) or intermediate chain support teeth (extra width of links makes it wider than most chains preventing it fitting correctly). I have 3 chain tools and none would cut this. LBS did not have a solution either without burning a link.Chain is very heavy but that weight should limit stretch.Up to you if the weight and difficult breaking is worth the lack of stretch.No problems with chain jump. Seems very secure and tracks on single speed great.Option to add quick disconnect for easy chain removal. Nice touch for cleaning but disconnect not as easy as it appears and make take a min or two of fiddling with pliers or needle nose pliers.
