This classic scale system is very through and well laced out. Many sections with emphasis on a particular technical issue. All the scales and arpeggios are covered from C major to 7 flats and 7 sharps, both major and melodic minor forms. I use this with my students from the youngest through high school. I also play through a section of it myself. The printed fingerings are very good, but there are so many variations that I pencil in for my students and myself. Oh, I highly recommend memorizing the 3 octave scales and arpeggios when you get to that last section.

But do you expect a book called scale studies to be easy? This book is a classic and a must for any serious violinist. Absolutely worth the purchase!

They have scales and arpeggios and excellent fingering notations. It's a classic for a reason and my violin playing has been improving as I started to make my way through this book. It is excellent for memorizing fingerings in 2nd and 3rd position. Good purchase I would reccomend!

the book itself is a good quality print. I had the same book when I was taking lessons as a little boy. Now an adult and I find myself getting back into violin so i picked up this classic. Not disappointed at all.

So if you're getting Hrimaly I'm assuming you know what you're getting into. It's a collection of scales for violin practice. But if I want to talk about the product, this is a good and clear print. The notes are the perfect size and I can see them easily. The condition of the book was also completely new and pristine.

My daughter/s violin teacher recommended this book to help her improve. Was very challenging at first for her, but as she practiced she began to master these. With each piece she had "down," her confidence increased. Was so wonderful to see her smile as she developed as a violinist. Recommend this book for the young violinist in your life!

My daughter plays violin. I do not. Her teacher said she needed this book. It has all the pages and includes what is described on the cover. She can read the notes and play them and it is a pleasant sound when it happens, so between her teacher and this book, I am going to call that a success. Would buy again if another violin instructor told me to. I am not sure what else to say.
