WOW - GREAT VICE!
Bought this for a home depot tool box that has a wood top. Got tired of building work benches in the garage only to leave them behind when I move. So, I figured, I'd make a mobile one. I've had two 4.5" vices that Home Depot sells and they don't compare to this one. For a little more you can buy this one and it's AWESOME. Solid as a rock, huge anvil, and the levers are so fluid. Bolted down, this one does not move and there is zero play when you lock it up. It also weighs a lot compared to the other cheap same size vice I have. It's perfect for gun and golf smithing which is what I use it for.

A solid vice at a good price
Got this to attach to a pickup truck hitch mount. Solid and well made, good value. Works well with smooth jaw motion and well aligned jaws; the swivel base also works well.

Great Vise With One Weird Issue
I bought this vise on the recommendation of a YouTuber. It's the perfect size for my 30" X 60" workbench. It's super sturdy and Yost has an excellent reputation. The one thing I have experienced is: if I clamp something in it and the item is not perfectly centered over the beam, The vise will jam when I loosen the jaw. It takes me having to give the outboard jaw a firm but not crazy hard bump on the side with the palm of my hand to release it. I have gotten used to it and I don't know if this is something common to this model but it's what happens to mine. Otherwise, I'm happy with it.

Excellent product for the price!
I recently used this vise to change a couple muzzle devices on AR-15's and it worked flawlessly. It has been mounted with 4 large bolts onto a heavy desk and it's a great tool to have around. The flat surface is a great functionality to have as well. I would recommend getting a pair of plastic, aluminum/aluminium and brass jaws if you're working on guns. That way you will not mar the finish on them or otherwise damage the look of the firearm by placing parts in the normal jaws. You can get these jaws for a fair price on Amazon. Here is what I have been using:http://www.amazon.com/Olympia-Tools-38-695-Pack-Magnetic/dp/B008BF1VEK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418178609&sr=8-1&keywords=vise+jawThe width the jaws open on this vise is more than enough for most jobs. It's sturdy, came well oiled and the swivel is fairly smooth on it so I highly recommend Yost's products and this one in particular.

Does its job. Used for holding lawn mower blades
as long as you bench mount it, it does its job. I was initially concerned about the size but it does what you need it too.

Nice moderate duty vise (4.5")
This is a great vise for your garage or basement work bench. It is heavy duty enough to confidently handle moderate jobs and some nice features to make it versatile. The 360 swivel is great, and as other reviewers have stated, these now ship with tie downs on both sides. This allows you to swivel and lock into place without and give. The notches under the jaws also securely hold pipes for cutting. When mounting you will need to be right on the end of the table in order for the fixed jaw to be past your table edge to allow clamped items to go to the floor. To confirm for other viewers, the vise is sold by a Michigan company but manufactured and shipped from China. However, the materials are all very sturdy and it does not feel cheap or flimsy. I secured to the bench with 3/8" bolts, using a washer, locking washer and lock nut under the bench. The holes will snugly fit a 1/2" bolt. The directions provide some recommended under mount support.
