Perfect for our 8 Chicks
we loved this for our chickens! we got it when they were just chicks and it worked perfect for the trough they were in. they love climbing on top of it and in it. assembly is pretty simple but does require a drill. it’s super sturdy and can hold a lot of chicks at once. the only bad part is that it’s not the easiest to clean but if you really worked on it, you could get it clean. i love this product and would purchase it again in the future

Perfect for chicks
I’m very happy with this purchase. Extremely easy to put together. Very sturdy. My baby chicks will love this. I will definitely purchase more from Backyard Barnyard. I PROUDLY Support Made in USA products and small businesses!!!

Bars
I like this and the chickens will sit on it, however I would make the bars a little bigger and space a little further apart...would also paint it when I got it to make for easy cleaning. But it gives them a place to perch and bounce around so not all on top of one another.

The chicks loved it
Easy to assemble. Started in the brooder and they were all over it. It’s now out in the run and they are still using it at 14 weeks.

Great for baby chicks development
This was an impulse buy because I am a new chicken mom this year. I wanted to make sure I was giving my chicks the best set up. This was invaluable for the development of my babies. I put it in the brooder when the chicks were 2 weeks old and they all acted like I put an alien in there. One by one I put them all on it and they would jump and run. After several attempts I just left it in there to see what would happen. Eventually I would find them randomly sitting on it during the day. As they got older they would roost on it at night. By the time they were 6 weeks old it was too small for them but they still tried to use it. It has held up beautifully and it is surprisingly easy to clean. I just used a stiff bristled brush and it worked like a charm. It’s now put away for any chicks I might get next year.

Made of craft wood
This mini perch is ok for baby chicks. It will do the job temporarily, but it's made of craft wood.. like those mini kids crafts you'd get from the dollar store. I don't expect it will hold up long, especially if it got wet. But if you know that going in and you only plan on using it for one round of chicks, it will work.

Chicks loved it.
Put this in my brooder and I was surprised about how quickly they started using it and sleeping on it. The bars are very small but we switched out the top one and put in a larger one as they grew. They love it. At 10 weeks, only two fit on it.

Silkie chicks love it!
My three silkies (about 9 weeks old) have been using this perch toy for a couple of weeks now and LOVE it. They take turns jumping from the top to “fly,” my impressive little roo uses it to sit up top and practice his screeching (crowing), and they are always using it to play and practice their skills. I’m a proud and protective momma hen and love the safety and usability of this toy. When my chickies are happy, I’m happy. Five stars.
