Impressive taste
A game changer if you're trying to have more "vegan" options in your diet. Its very easy to cook, simply need to let it soak with boiling water and then drain it as much as you can. I then simply cook it on the pan with a bit of oil and let it completely cooked before adding any sauce. The texture is amazing, it almost tast like chicken.

Excellent "meat" substitute!
It's hard to find good meat substitutes for those who want food that looks somewhat like meat and has a similar texture but is vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free (my husband!). These are ideal! They rehydrate and cook up nicely. As we use them in "wet" food like stews, casseroles, or curries, rather than rehydrating in water as directed which gives a bland result, we rehydrate in stock, seasoned tomato juice, or diluted cooking sauce and add straight to the cooking pot once they've soaked long enough to fully rehydrate. Unlike soy there's no strong unpleasant taste so they take on the flavour of cooking sauces nicely. A useful store cupboard item.

Good vegan protein
5* for protein content. Great for spicy meals such as red Thai curry but pretty tasteless in other dishes.

To pea or not to pea
I am not normally an advocate of meat substitutes and prefer to eat fresh veg, beans and lentils but as a vegan I like to add a bit more variety to my meals as my usual dishes can get watery and quite acidic with lots of veg, beans and lentils. This did what I wanted it to, it absorbs water and seasoning very well much like mushrooms or aubergine and adds texture to dishes, it also crisps up very nicely using an air frier without need for oil. However, I think I would have preferred without the salt (unsalted version?) and I am not sure whether the 'concentrates' contained within are nearly as nutritious as eating peas and fava beans which are great foods. Despite these aspects, the option contains high fibre, high protein and low fat content which is healthier than the majority of substitutes out there. I find it tasty but it is based on adding garlic, onions and seasoning. it balances my meal for me and also means I don't necessarily need to add as much carbohydrate such as pasta or rice since it is filling and satiating which I like. Overall, good and I will most likely keep for two meals a week to add some variation. Good price, available on amazon and Holland & Barrett which is useful and fair quality ingredients.

Mixed feelings...
Thought we'd give this a bash, it does have a soft, slight give in texture unlike the chewy soya chunks and eve when cooked and left in fridge, it retains that same texture. We think it's quite expensive for what it is but for those who can't eat soya it's a good option. Takes up flavour it's given. How did we feel? Incredibly farty. Oh, boy, and the farts stunk! Husband says they were unreal! It reminds me of the gas produced when eating Quorn, you could power a whole city! Husband also felt a little queasy so he'll avoid next time. I thought it was fine apart from the gassiness. I've got 3 packs left, don't think I'll buy more but it was a good experiment, I think I'll stick with adding more lentils and beans for the veggie protein.

Complete and convenient vegan protein
Love these! I can’t eat a lot of soya or Quorn and struggle to find a veggie meat alternative. These are perfect and so versatile. The suggestion on the packet of soaking them with a stock cube/bit of bullion/MSG is great and gives them more umami flavour because they’re tasteless otherwise. They don’t take long to soak and they’re a solid amount of protein for the calories too! Will buy again and again for sure

The best I've tried
This product is SO good. Bought it on a whim and I'll definitely be buying more. Such a cheap and versatile substitute. Much better than regular soy chunks. Rehydrates in cold water in 10 minutes

Nice alternative to soya chunks
If you are allergic to soya, then these are for you. They are tasteless, so will soak up any flavouring that you add to them. A really nice alternative to soya
