Usumacinta Mexican Vanilla Blend (Amber), 8.4 Ounces

I’m the baker in my family, and my MIL brought this exact bottle of vanilla back from a trip to Mexico. She knew I’d just love it, and I DID! Oh my word, it was divine. When the final drop was gone, I knew I needed to track it down. I was downright giddy when I found it on amazon. When I ordered, I was a bit worried it was going to be a fake... But it wasn’t! It was the exact same vanilla. And the flavor profile is outstanding. When you add this to baked goods, people will ask you what the secret is... and now I kinda feel like Ina Garten, saying “good quality Mexican vanilla!” LOL! But it’s true. It makes ALL the difference. Seriously, I did a side by side comparison between store bought Watson’s vanilla, another store bought so-called “organic bourbon Madagascar vanilla” and this Usumacinta Mexican vanilla. No comparison!!! The other vanillas had a strong alcohol scent that was overpowering when compared to this one. This vanilla has a smooth, luxurious aroma that is just heavenly. My pies, cakes, cookies, etc, are all elevated to the next level with this stuff. Even a simple whip cream tastes divine when you add this. It’s a pantry staple in my house now, and I’m SO glad it’s available on Amazon!! 🙌🏻

I had purchased some of this in the airport shop on my way home from Mexico and it has become my favorite vanilla. When I ran out I tried to find a website for the company and didn't, so I went to Amazon for more. The aroma is wonderful! The flavor is a real addition to anything you use it in. I used it for my Divinity (candy) I made last Christmas and it added so much to the candy, has a much better flavor than the vanilla form the grocery store. Everyone loved it and I got compliments on the flavor. It enhances meringue on pie, cookies, frosting, everything! The purchase price is good for the amount you get. I think I paid a little more at the airport duty free shop for the same size bottle, of course everything costs more at the airport.

This stuff smells so good! I'm not sure what the fluid used for the vanilla is, because the ingredient is only listed as Pure Vanilla on the bottle. Hopefully, it is not one of the fake-processed vanillas. The bottle is so pretty, it makes me happy. The flavor is a rich, fragrant vanilla, and I only need to add about 1/2 tsp to 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt for the whole bowl of yogurt to smell like sweet sweet vanilla without adding sugars. It's changed my yogurt game so much already. I infuse my coffee grounds with it as well-there the taste isn't as pronounced, but aroma is everything. I will do more research on the company and may update my review if I find the vanilla isn't pure. However, for the price, and trusting the label as it is, this is the closest I have come to finding (economically) the vanilla my mother would buy in Mexico that I grew up with as a child. I cannot compare it to other vanilla brands/products, and some reviews suggest this is not what they were expecting flavor wise. However, if you want that Mexican vanilla flavor, look no further.

This vanilla is to supermarket brands as dark chocolate is to cheap milk chocolate. The vanilla flavor is much more intense and nuanced. I first used it in a cream cheese frosting for cinnamon rolls, and upon taking a bite of the roll, what hit me was the vanilla from the frosting, even more than the cinnamon filling in the roll. I just made my first batch of homemade vanilla ice cream with this stuff. I always use a real vanilla bean plus a teaspoon of vanilla extract in my ice cream, and this extract changed the flavor of the ice cream to make it much more intense. Use with caution if you do not want vanilla flavor to feature in your foods. As long as the price remains reasonable and competitive, I will purchase again. I'm so happy to have found it.

I really like the taste of Mexican vanilla!!

I've been baking for decades, and for many years now I have used my go-to Nielsen Massey vanilla bean paste; which I highly recommend. I decided to switch it up and try this Mexican vanilla, since I had never heard of it, or tried it before, figured sure why not. Oh my goodness is this stuff good! It has an entirely different kind of vanilla flavor, almost a buttery caramel vanilla smell and flavor to it. I put this Mexican vanilla in crepes, filled with an apricot and walnut filling- so incredibly delicious! I could see it being perfect for a vanilla steamer for my kids, or anything really. It's just another great vanilla option to switch up the flavor with a little extra something. Will definitely be buying this one again! Try it, you will like it!

I'm a real Mexican Vanilla lover ! Each day I use 1 teaspoon in my breakfast smoothie which I call my science project.About 10 years ago I started bringing back vanilla when we went on cruises or visited resorts in Mexico and I was hooked!There are subtle differences in different brands of this magical elixir. The thing I really noticed was how much I look forward to using this brand and how fast it is disappearing. It's sweet , floral and rich, everything I love about real Mexican Vanilla. The reality is that I need to find this in quarts or gallon size at a better price because this stuff is way too expensive as in like 4X the cost of Totunacs online. Maybe I'll go back to Mexico and look for this. I'll be shipping a case home if i can find it !

I am writing this review 3 months after purchase. Why? Because I run out and bought a different brand - I like to have options. If I compare Usumacinta Mexican Vanilla Blend with my new purchase- this one is far superior.Scent amazing - hse smells awesome when you bake cookies or cakes. I wiped a drop off the counter with my palm, and I could still smell it an hour later....which makes me wonder maybe you can add a few drops in unscented hand lotion or emollient.I digress...taste amazing. A CAPFUL in my coffee every morning with cream or no cream....Yum. I am no longer drinking plain coffee!!!I add it in my protein smoothies too.
