I can’t really put it into words but these laces make my boots to feel softer along the laces no matter how tight you tie them. It might be the fact that these laces are about double the thickness of the laces that came with my boots, but what I do know is that I will be ordering these laces from now on for all of my boots.

My original Columbia boot laces shredded in less than a year of pulling against metal lace hooks. The new laces snug up the shoe better and the thick braided material should outlast the shoe itself.

My boots seem to be designed to shred the laces at the transition from eyelets to hooks. The stock laces lasted about 2 months, and a tougher pair lasted over two years. I'm hoping these will last much longer. I want to post an initial impression, though, because finding out how well they wear might take a few years.The laces are really thick, and it wasn't easy to thread them through the eyelets of my boots. I tried using pliers to pull them through, but that destroys the aglets. Eventually, I found that I could just push the end in a little bit and use the lace to wiggle it in enough to grab the end with my fingers. It might have been easier if they made the aglets compress the lace ends a tiny bit more. It's a minor gripe, but I took a star off for it anyway. On the other hand, I think the thickness of the laces helps them stay tied, as advertised. Interestingly, tying the laces was an unexpected pleasure. The laces have a soft feel, so they don't feel like they're cutting into your hands as you tie them.

Great quality laces! These are strong and durable, and I'm using them in my 7 hole Doc Marten's steel toe motorcycle boots. I would definitely buy again, but probably one size up as these barely fit the 7 hole boots, and I'd like a little extra lace to tie them up without having to be constrictingly tight.

Perfect colour perfect size

A little large for the loops on my boots (my problem, not the laces). I just pried them open a bit to fit better. I expect the laces will outlast the boots.
