Expensive but Works Great
StarTech makes both a right-angle and a left-angle version of this USB Micro-B cable. The cable in the photo is one or the other, I'm not sure which - I bought both. P/N USB3AU50CMRS or USB3AU50CMLS.The SanDisk 2.5" 2TB SSD costs $109.96. The ReleTech 2.5" Drive Enclosure, which converts the computer's USB to the drive's SATA, costs $7.55. And the cable is $11.95. It seems odd that the cable should cost more than the enclosure/converter, but I admit I was happy to find the cable at all. It goes to a nearby USB hub and it's working fine, thank you, doing just what a cable should do.The idea is to have a very portable and versatile backup drive for an emergency. Just unplug it from the hub and scram. The photo shows the combination with the cable held in place by rubber bands - it tended to work itself loose otherwise, which I believe is a problem with the connector specification and not so much the connector itself. Under the lengthwise pair of rubber bands you will also see a USB-A to USB-C adapter, in case that is needed later.

Beefy cable solves charging voltage sag problem
I'm using this cable to charge a Samsung 12.2" tablet. With my existing (replacement) cable from a big-box store, (the original Samsung one wore out), performance declined so that the tablet's battery could only achieve 92% (charging overnight with the tablet turned OFF). A voltage check revealed a voltage sag at the battery. Well, I could suspect the battery and/or the internal flat cable/connector at the charging port needed replacement... as one or more components connected in series may contribute to system degradation. But first, I replaced the external charging cable with this StarTech one, and the battery attained 100% charge within a few minutes. Problem solved. It would be helpful if StarTech's product description could avoid the fashionable word "thin." With charging use cases, "thin" is not desirable. And relative to other USB cables I have, this StarTech one is not thin at all. Better yet, charging cable product descriptions should list the internal wire gauge (AWG) just to be clear.

Heavy duty cord. Used for Galaxy S5 phone, but not ideal if you want to keep the water resistant port cover on your phone.
This is a heavy duty cord. I have used it to charge my Samsung Galaxy S5 in the car. The S5 phone has a cover over the charge/data port to make it more water resistant. For a while, I was able to move it out of the way while using this cord. But eventually after daily use, the stress caused by stretching the tether for the cover it finally broke the cover off of my phone. This was my fault. If I had purchased the right side angle instead of the one that goes to the left, I don't think it would have caused any problem. My reason for buy this was that I would be able to lay the phone down sideways between the driver and passenger seat and the angle coming out would prevent the cord from going straight out into my passenger's leg. That worked. And now that the cover for the data port is gone, there is no interference with the plug.

New Cable for my external drive.
Today the order for the 6 foot Slim Micro USB 3.0 Cable M/M - Right-Angle Micro-USB - USB 3.0 A to Micro B cord arrived. I as very satisfied this the item it arrived as described I was having issues with my at straight cord coming out of my external drive. I am also was having an issue with the straight UBS 3 male connector. I noticed that that the connector has started to bend and I figured I better replace the cord before it damages my external drive. So the two best features are the right angle that goes into my external drive and a much sturdier connector going into the computer.

Thin Cable with Great connectivity -- Perfect for Intel RealSense
I've been looking for a good USB 3.0 cable for a while. I needed one with angled connector for the Intel RealSense R200 camera. This development camera is so tiny and slim that any thick cable would tilt the sensor. This drove me nuts as I needed the camera to be stationary when I was working with it. Also, the R200 camera is very sensitive to the cable quality and a few other USB 3.0 cables I used were unable to maintain a stable connection. Not with this cable. I'm wondering why it didn't show up on the top of all other micro USB 3.0 cables! This cable holds the connection perfectly, and is very slim compared to everything else I've seen. This is the first StarTech product I've used and they are going to have me for life!

Hard to find cable that's perfect for tethered operation with my EOS 5d mk4
Most right angle cables bend the other direction. This one is perfect for my EOS 5D mk4, sending the wire up, away from the tripod head when I'm using it tethered, allowing me to rotate the camera from portrait to landscape without the USB cable getting fouled up on the tripod head and putting stress on the camera's USB connector. Can even tape the cable to the lens or body, so none of the stresses from bending and twisting stiff USB 3 cables are transferred to the camera's USB connector. May need to get a spare for when I'm on location.

rugged
I charge a Samsung 12.1" tablet with this. I like to read in bed, and often fall asleep. This is hard on the cable and connector. I wore out 3 cables *AND* had to replace the connector on the tablet. The right angle connector minimizes stress on the tablet end, and the generous length allows draping the cable along the headboard knobs, again, avoiding stress on the connector ends. Problem solved.

Power Cord for Samsung 12.1 Tablet
I chose the Left angle cord to avoid breaking this power cord like I did the cord that came with our tablet. Streamlines the position pointing down.Cord is thicker than I thought it would be but very good quality.Connection to the tablet is no issue as is the USB end.I would recommend this cord to anyone replacing their cord on their Samsung Galaxy Tablets.
