So Happy We Found This Bread
We absolutely love this bread! We’re originally from Germany, and we were so excited to find this here. The taste and texture are just like the rye bread we’re used to back home. Delicious, hearty, and perfect for everyday sandwiches.

Don't Think That This Brand Is Typical of Genuine German Bread !
I never was much of a 'bread person' until I spent 2 weeks this past June in Germany. I ate the best bread I have ever eaten in my life while there. Superb bread ! Delicious taste & texture. And small bakeries everywhere serving all sorts of just baked breads. That made me a genuine German bread convert for life. Once back in the States, I tried my best to find some genuine German bread & happened upon this Mestemacher brand of breads. Ordered a loaf of Pumpernickel & a loaf of Whole Rye. Was terribly disappointed in both. Godawful ! DO NOT think that this stuff is typical of the genuine stuff that you can get everywhere in Germany. It is not. This Mestemacher stuff had absolutely no taste at all. Totally bland & disappointing.

Good bread
When I first tasted this bread, YUK, I put it the freezer,saved it and tried again later,then decided to toast it I put ghee butter and garlic salt,and the bread stayed together, it did not fall apart and tasted at least 50% better,now I make healthy sandwiches by toasting it first,with mayo and spices, iam sticking with it,because iam tired of the bread industry poisoning me,with their crap products. Now I found out olive oil isn't olive oil,it's all fake. Now I cook with ghee butter.

Tastes good and is good for you.
The flakes are crisps, as long as they don’t sit too long in the milk you add. The serving size is a hearty 1 1/2 cups. In that 1 1/2 cups you get 6g of fiber and only 9g of sugar.

The bread is very dry and tears easily and it lacks flavor for me.its not the size of sliced bread.its rectangle.but it's just one opinion,(mine) others may enjoy it.try fir yourself.
