Winsor & Newton Professional Cotton Canvas, 8" x 10" Deep Edge

Whilst this large linen canvas was damaged in transit this quality product was well-priced and the company’s prompt customer friendly response means I will be happy to trade with them again. I am therefore content to rate 5 stars :)

The plastic screw was too soft - I had a flat head screwdriver the right size, but it only had one shot at tightening before the plastic was damaged. I got these all fully in eventually and tightened - but the canvas isn't nearly tight enough to paint on and the back support will show through. Why go from wood to plastic??

I was interested in their adoption of plastic wedges for the canvas. They seem to work well, and possibly better than wooden ones, as they are not affected by environmental conditions. The linen itself is of good quality, as advertised, primed smoothly with no flaws, and the stretcher bars are sturdy.

This is the second time i buy this, my first experience was great but this time there are so many tiny bumps in my canvas . I am painting a portrait so you must understand my frustration!😒
