Leather crossbody bag messenger satchel tablet bag 11 inches for men and women (Brown)

I was looking for an affordable, sturdy, nice looking bag for carrying around the things that I like to always have with me. It needed to be a little bit older than my old bag, and I wanted leather if I could manage it. This looked like the sort of thing I wanted, and the extra height over a lot of other bags designed to fit a tablet was part of what swayed me to this bag.It arrived faster than expected, and it was beautifully wrapped within the box in a very prettily patterned bag. The packaging generally showed great care, and on inspection, so did the workmanship. The stitching looks and feels nice, and the buckles all work well. I appreciated that there was metal reinforcement on the buckle straps.I loaded it up with all my stuff, and I was very pleased with how easily everything fit: iPad, external battery, notebook, folding fan, medicine bag (with an inhaler and a few other things), and a pen all went into the front compartment with plenty of room on top. I can plug in the iPad to the external battery while in the bag without worrying about closing the top and knocking the power cord loose (a problem that I had with my old bag). There's also enough room to settle my decent sized folding over ear headphones at the top of the bag, though it does make the top bulge a little bit (it still closes securely).I think that my favorite part is the little front pocket that is the perfect if slightly tight fit for my wallet which means I can tap my bus card without having to dig out my wallet (nobody's getting the wallet out of there without my noticing though, it's snug enough that it takes some practice getting it in and out).Right now the leather is a little bit lighter than as pictured, but places where it rubs against things the most, the final color that it will weather to is already starting to come through. Even without the weathering, it's a lovely bag, though a few shades lighter than I might have chosen, but I really look forward to seeing the color and gloss that it gains with a bit of weathering. I love the feel of the goat leather, and the canvas lining is good quality (though I wouldn't put a tablet against it without a screen protector of some sort). It smells properly of leather right now, though I know that the smell will lessen over time. It might be a bit overwhelming if you don't like the smell of new leather or aren't used to it, but to me, it's a lovely smell that shows the quality.

Updated review:Here I am, almost 5 years after my original purchase. My original bag still works, but has been abused to the point I fear the shoulder strap will eventually break where it was mistakenly cut at some point. I said I would be back, and I can’t be more grateful that this bag is still being manufactured with some wonderful updates to the design. I LOVE the addition of strong, sturdy metal clip style buckles that can be used in conjunction with the standard buckles. The straps are also slightly shorter which leads to a much cleaner look than the original. My ONLY complaint is that I must wait for it to break in once more, but I know, without a doubt, I will be back in another few years to replace this daily staple! Pictures of the old and new bags have been added so you can truly appreciate just how gorgeous this bag will become once it begins to soften with regular use. It’s hard to believe this is actually the same bag, but I promise you will not regret investing in such a beautiful and practical bag.Original review:First of all, I want to thank Komal's Passion Leather for one of the best unpackaging experiences of my life. From the moment you first open the box, you know that this seller truly cares about their product. The leather satchel I purchased was much more protected than I would have imagined. The bag was inside of another small drawstring satchel made of a beautifully printed material which was inside of another clear plastic bag which in turn was taped securely around its contents.Unpacking Experience:When I removed the leather satchel from the drawstring satchel, my first impression was that it is, for once, everything it was advertised to be and more. Not to mention, every piece of ANY clasp that could have potentially damaged the leather in transit was very well covered by cellophane and/or thin packaging foam. Beyond that, the protection was still VERY easy to remove. It took just a few minutes to pull the protective materials from no less than 7 places on the bag. The level of care taken in preparing this bag for shipment and safe arrival is phenomenal!But wait! It gets better! Above and beyond that, there is a "Thank you" letter and care instructions on a piece of beautiful raw paper that was hand signed by Komal. The contents of the letter not only thank you for the purchase but go into the process taken to naturally cure and prepare the product. This bag is "100% handmade from genuine unprocessed leather and is tanned using traditional Sun tanning process and vegetable oils. No chemicals are used during the making of this bag."The Bag Itself:The bag is breathtaking! It has 2 outside zippered pockets on the front and back as deep as the bag itself, 1 buckle pocket on the front middle, an interior zippered pocket (again, as deep as the bag itself, and 3 sections on the interior of the bag. One of these last 3 pockets is almost the entire depth of the bag. (This is the pocket where my 10.5 inch iPad Pro will likely call home, though one of the two thinner spots may work as well if you do not have a case on yours.) The other 2 pockets are great for papers, thinner wallets, your cell phone, a small notepad if needed, maybe to hold a few pens??There is still plenty of room after placing my iPad into the satchel to allow for my basic needs. I can easily still fit my glasses case, my apple pencil case, my wallet, phone, and other daily wants and needs within this bag without overfilling it. I will be carrying this bag for many years to come. The amount of thought taken to fully maximize this bags potential through the creation process is rare to find these days. The stitching is perfect on every seam (Trust me, I looked. I was sure something HAD to be wrong somewhere.). I have no doubt that this bag will last me for many many years and grow more beautiful with each passing season as it ages. I may have received this at a reduced price, but having this in hand I would have happily paid the original asking price or MORE for a bag of this quality.In closing, if and when I decide I need to replace this satchel, upgrade to a larger one, or just want some variety in my life, I will likely search for Komal's Passion Leather first. OMG! This bag is such a wonderful piece of craftsmanship. You can tell it is made with such care and pride! This guy is really a craftsman. I chose this bag because of how it looked after comparing to several others in here and finally bought it because it had such good reviews. It is worth every penny. It is so well made that it will last forever. The pockets are deep all the way to the botton of the bag. The little front pocket is perfect for your keys and lip balm and little flashlight. It is lined inside with a light colored sturdy cloth that adheres to the leather so it is easy to see inside the bag even though it is narrow and deep. And the lining will never wear out. It is just the perfect size for necessities and all the pockets allow for organization and easy access to your stuff. It rides well on your body without slipping about like canvas bag do. I just cannot say enough about how fine a bag it is. And the care taken to pack it! Wow! I've never seen anything like it. This guy has his whole heart in what he does. He is extrodinary and so is his bag. Thanks Komal for your talent.
