This is normal phenomenon. It is determined by the physical principle of electroluminescent wire or EL wire. EL wire glow needs a high frequency pulsed power source, and its frequency falls squarely at the frequencies that are more sensitive to hearing. So sometime you can hear a slight buzzing noise. All EL products have such a problem. But it is a very weak sound and is easy for most people to accept, especially when you hide the pack at your waist or in the pocket.
