Excellent fishing rod.
This fishing rod is a decent quality for the price. I have already landed several Coho salmon with this pole.

Solid buy!
The Shimano Trolling Series 2-Piece Fishing Rod is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, but I have some doubts about its durability. I mean, it's so fine and delicate, it might snap in half if I catch a big fish. Or worse, it might get jealous of my other rods and break up with me. I like to switch between a baitcaster and a spinning reel, depending on how I feel each day. Sometimes I want to be smooth and precise, other times I want to be wild and unpredictable. But I don't want to hurt the Shimano's feelings, you know? It's such a sensitive rod, it might take it personally if I use another one. So I'm torn between buying it or not. What do you think?

Seems pretty nice
I’ve read many reviews about fishing rods and many condemn Amazon’s poor packaging. So many arrive damaged from terrible shipping practices. This rod was packaged wonderfully. There was NO POSSIBILITY of shipping damage. The rod showed up in perfect condition today. I won’t get a chance to see if I like the rod for another week, but it feels good and the price was amazing. This rod came from North Carolina to Oregon. I’m pretty sure shipping cost more than I paid for the rod.AmazingUpdated: after several months and about three of these rods (two MH and one ML), I still think this might be the most underrated rods for trolling I’ve ever seen. True, there’s no hook keeper, but that’s my ONLY gripe! They catch fish.I bought the Medium Light most recently. I think it’s the best one for trout or Kokanee. The heavier ones are good for PNW salmon.$30, delivered.Amazing.

good inexpensive downrigger rod
really good for a very inexpensive trolling/downrigger rod. Medium power worked perfect for trolling for sockeye and pink salmon this year with a small manual downrigger. good value for the money. For kokanee, I definitely would have wanted to go to a lighter power and for larger chinook I'd probably prefer a medium/heavy. Not a super high quality rod, but for the price this is hard to beat.
