Perfect Pocket Door Lock
My guest bathroom has a pocket door with no latch or lock. I added this in less than minutes and have been pleasantly surprised at how well it works and how nice it looks. There are no instructions for installing because they're not needed. To install, I connected the two latching pieces and held them on the door for placement, making sure not to make the fit too tight. I screwed the larger part onto the door first, then marked the smaller receptacle piece carefully before screwing it into the door frame. I'm very happy with how well the latch works and how nice it looks on the door.My door opens on the left, and installing the lock so that the latching hook rotates up from the bottom works perfectly.

Good lock, hard to line up for install!
Once I finally got it in place, it is a well made sturdy little lock. Lining up the locking mechanism and the bracket that goes in the door is very difficult because the slot has to be precise or the hooking tab won't slide in. I recommend using double sided tape to put things up exactly where you want them, get it lined up right, then mark your holes. You will need anchors if your door is hollow like mine to add strength, as the screws are on the short and small side.

Worked perfectly to latch my hollow pocket doors
This 90 degree latch was exactly what I needed to secure my hollow pocket doors. Many thanks to other reviewers who offered great advice on installing it.As other reviews have noted, the latch has a narrow tolerance -- so the position of the latch unit and strike plate need to be installed carefully. My doors were hollow. If yours are, too, you need to buy hollow door anchors because the screws included with the kit won't hold the latch solidly. And if you do use hollow door anchors, I recommend that you also buy a wall anchor setting tool (to secure it in place). Here's how I was able to align the latch unit and strike plate on my pocket doors...First, I installed the strike plate on the receiving door jamb trim with the straight side of the plate flush with the door side of the trim. (see photo) I drilled pilot holes and used the three screws that come with the kit. They seemed solid enough.Second, with the door closed, I connected the latch unit to the strike plate and positioned the latch unit against the pocket door and checked that it would open and close. I marked the latch unit's screw hole locations on the door with an ice pick. Then set the latch unit aside.Third, I drilled holes in the pocket door at the marked locations. Large enough for the hollow door anchor to barely fit through. I used the wall anchor setting tool to secure the anchors in the door.At this point, the latch is unlikely to engage with the strike plate. But check it anyway by holding it in place manually and moving the latch knob to ON.If it doesn't engage, use a small metal washer or two between the back side of the latch unit and the door anchor screws. My installation needed two washers for each screw. You may get by with just one washer for each screw.Small washers will be invisible behind the latch unit once it is installed. But they add enough lift to align the latch unit with its strike pad. That's what worked for me.Again, many thanks to other reviewers who shared their tips for installation.

Works perfectly !!!!

tight tolerance, only for perfect machined surfaces.
Measure carefully, it has an extremely tight tolerance. My house is old and the wood door frame has imperfections so this just doesn’t work. Unfortunately I missed the return window.

May need to shim product. Shims not included.
Very well built. Product needed shimmed to work and shims were not included. Overall, a good product but it did take some extra time to install as I had to make my own shims. Also, be careful with the provided screws. They are easy to strip if you use a drill gun instead of a screwdriver.

Good for some applications
Could not use it in my application. But kept it just in case I can use it in the future.
