I used it as the first step of traditional single blade wetshaving. Got a bunch of cuts over the first few weeks. Don't worry if you do, keep at it, eventually you will get the skill to shave on wet skin without soap/lather too. Coming to the shavette, it is truly Stainless steel, though I think it is SS303 or SS304 rather than SS316. There are only two copper alloy pegs on which the blade gets aligned so that it does not move when pushed back by the body surface or hair (when it is being cut). And a plastic bush between the SS scales of the razor. Grip is fantastic and has a reassuring heft to it. ITs a very capable razor, which can elevate your shaving experience when used with the correct blade as per sharpness+smoothness. The blades are not recommended, as everyone's skin is different, I would rather recommend a blade sampler pack. I am happy with Gillette Super Thins, Gillette 7-o-clock SP (black), VI-John Chrome. This thing has only discoloured/dulled slightly as compared to July 2021 when I got it. I don't use it as frequently now as I prefer DE razors, but once in a while I use it to shave other body hair and sometimes on the wet face when I am too busy to enjoy the full shaving experience. Fantastic product, will recommend Parker razors. There is a group on reddit called Wetshavers_India. It's a fantastic resource for all things Shaving in India. My only advice is that you should be very careful when handling this (or ANY SHAVETTE). In the first few weeks, 3 cuts to my hands (both hands) simply because I wasn't careful enough. That's the best part. You LEARN to concentrate on your shaving technique when using a shavette. Else it is a very unforgiving mistress. The discipline helps you when you start using DE razors.

It looks quite good, it’s written is in stainless steel, now I don’t know if it’s entirely on this material or just the flap who holds the blade, anyway in 2 months of use I noticed no rust anywhere, it keeps nicely the blade in place and the exposure of it is very minimum so it results to be gentle on the skin, I mean, gentle to be a shavette which usually they are not and of course, requires some skill to use it properly. The finishes are amazing, if I have to say one defect I would say the chrome finish let you leave all your fingerprints on it, but that’s ok.

Product is so nice and the design is just perfect. I was a beginner at one stage and now I am a pro. But this one is just awesome. Comes with plenty of blades (each of them last very long). Handling with wet hands can be challenging sometimes but that could be any razors. Weight and material of the product make it best amongst the top other branded ones.

I bought this due to the reviews, the weight, the price and the fact that sharpening tools were not needed. The weight is like a true straight razor. I just let the razor do the work. No pressure needed. The Parker is a well made unit. No need to sharpen and strop like the old days. It had been years since I used a straight, so I thought I'd give this a try. Works great. Like a bike, right back to using both hands on both sides of the face. No cuts. Fits in my hands perfectly. Does not slip. No need to get the handle wet when using. CARE IS NEEDED when opening the blade lock to insert or remove the blade. If you do this wrong, you will pay. It is tricky. Just be patient and careful. I use my fingernails to open but using another item might be better (small screwdriver, butter knife). This is my only peeve with this unit. I tried to press back on the lock lever on the spine, when unlocked, to see if it would open easier while prying the two halves apart. It did not work. If the manufacturer improved this so it was easier to open, then it would be near perfect. Other than that, I really like this unit. I would say to teach yourself not to grab for the blade if dropped. Something we had to learn it the trades. Just practice with the razor and a small piece of tin foil ( make shift blade) over a towel in the sink-like you are loading the razor with a blade. The idea is teach yourself not to instinctively grab for them if dropped. Just saying. Also watch some of Lynn Abrams videos on using a straight razor if your are a newbie. I personally did not like the blades that came with the razor. Seemed dull to me, but, so did others. I have a very stiff and thick beard. Bought a sample pack of double edge blades and tried several. For me, the Feather Platinum and Astra Platinum blades and this unit kick butt.
