Q: I would like to know if the needle stays securely connected with the tubing? My concern is that they may get disconnected easily.

I've had some for more than 10 years and I've had very few issues, up to this point. One came apart and I fixed it with a dab of glue, and was knitting again in 5 minutes. These are the only needles I knit with anymore. I have them in all cable lengths and sizes. After about 10 years, I did discover a problem with the plastic cables. But honestly, 10 years of knitting for less than $10? I'll just replace that set (which is why I'm here today)

These are knitting needles that do not have the hook on the end to do the stitch in question. So no these will not work for the Tunisian stitch. You need an elongated crochet needle that is blocked off are the end to hold your stitches.
