This speaker is primarily intended to be a pro audio speaker, but I bought it to use for a dual purpose guitar and bass cab. I was looking for something like an EVM12L and came across this guy's big brother, the Delta Pro 12A. This one (the non-Pro) doesn't have quite as flat of a response, with a noticeable bump in the 2k-4.5kish range - which many people consider desirable for guitar. It's also 5 pounds lighter and roughly half the price. Anyways, it sounds fantastic for guitar. It's a fairly transparent speaker, and is quite articulate and responsive without sounding "hifi". It's quite smooth with high gain, and doesn't get muddy even with a lot of bass in the signal (low tunings sound beastly - Drop A thunders through this thing). Cleans sound great, with no noticeable volume spikes (some guitar speakers seem much louder on some notes than others - none of that here). As a bass speaker, this works great as well. Of course, the lower you want to go, the better your cab design will have to be. Mine's a bit of a compromise as my main instrument is guitar and I designed the cab primarily for that, but the cab still works great for an old school (classic rock) bass tone with this speaker. I'm sure with a cab that's tuned and ported to put out the low end you could get a more modern bass tone out of this speaker.

I got a pair of Seismic Audio wedge monitors off CL and they were fine enough but after about 6 months one of them started to snap-crackle-pop and suffer volume drops. After cleaning both of them, most of the issues subsided, but not all. So, I got a pair of these to replace the stock SM12's. Aside from no longer having any crackling nor static, the clarity of the signal is very pure. I have a high-pass filter running so the very low end is not routed into the speakers, but even still the low and low-mid presence is significant, and much greater than the stock SM12's had. The mid-range is not lost, however. Quite the contrary, there is clarity up through upper mid's. The SM12 wedge has a tweeter horn and I don't know where the cross-over frequency is so I don't know where the 12" speaker no longer gets signal. I will say that everything I can definitively source from this speaker sounds incredible. Definitely recommend. Seller-related, I ordered these through GearNuts. The non-Amazon shipper delivered to the wrong address and GearNuts was highly responsive throughout the package recovery effort. New favorite seller.

maybe a Mustang 1 user will read this here. I bought a Eminence Delta 10A 10" PA speaker to replace the 8" factory speaker in my Fender Mustang 1. I think the guitar amplifier is great for it's (intended purpose). It's a practice amp. I played it in a 7' x 8' room turned up to 3 & it sounded really good to my ears in this small confined space. However in 2 larger spaces 15' x 18' & 20' x 30' mostly open room it didn't. And the louder U turn it up the worse it sounds. Then once tried it outside it really sounded like doggy do. I bought this Delta 10A 10" sold as used w/ small cosmetic flaw (which I couldn't find) for $50. Looked brand new. Best $50 I ever spent. I kept it simple on the advice of another Amazon customer review I'd read under Mustang 1. (note: not found under v2 reviews) I just opened up the back & put it in the same 8"speaker hole without taking off the grill cloth & making the hole bigger. I'm sure there's some sound lost. I also drilled an 1 3/4" hole in the back as he had suggested. So perhaps someday I will experiment with a more open back design & open up the speaker hole in front but, for now I am very pleased. note: After removing the 11 screws off the back I still had to really dig my screwdriver in & pry really hard to get the back off. I was about to the point of giving up after tearing the outer fabric and it not budging. It was not only a tight fit but also had dabs of glue at several screw holes. So keep this in mind if U go for it. I turned it up to 6 or 7 & the distortion sounded like a big amp. I turned it up to 10 only trying a clean finger picking style & sounded great, still clean & clear. I didn't want the neighbor to call the cops so that is as far as I have tested it. Now I back in the small room playing it at a more comfortable vol. 1 I will edit & add more if make those changes or I have the chance to play it really loud. = 5 to 10 Holy smokes it hurts my ears that loud.

Great sound. A little unconventional but I-paired with a 15 Eminece bass speaker for my bass rig and it has a great sound
