Great for hair
I heard about amla powder a while ago and started doing some research on natural saponins and found this for hair care. I have not taken it orally yet. But I did use it for haircare. It took some adjusting to make the perfect deep conditioner (whole banana, amla and water)- but I found it! After wash day my hair has never been so moisturized and defined (with no gel). (I also want to mention that I have curly-kinky, thick, long hair and am sensitive to scents.) This has been one of the best products I have ever used ( smells like fruity earth-not stinky dirt)! Lastly, my hair looks fuller, and is still defined after a week. Buy, and try (do some research and find out what works for you/if you could have allergies or if you like it in general)! I hope this helps.

Worth a try and easy to use
I take this for the same reason everyone does: the purported health benefits. In my case I’m particularly interested in its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory actions. I can’t attest to these, but I trust Dr Greger so I assume they exist. As the instructions advised I started with 1/4 teaspoon twice a day , and gradually worked up to 1 teaspoon a day in herbal tea. To keep it from settling to the bottom of the cup I stir i frequently. It alters the taste of the hibiscus tea but it is still pleasant to drink. I found that I should take it after meals because on an empty stomach it caused some gastric distress. After meals no problem.

First time user
I can only speak to the quality of the amla at this time, because I’ve only used it for a short time. I add it to my morning smoothie. It dissolves very well and I don’t even notice that it’s there.

Love it
I use Amal weekly. I have purchased it several times and will continue to do so. I use it in a henna hair mask. It takes the brassiness out of the coloring in my hair.

Factory quality error…?
I Purchased this about a month ago and I have liked it just fine. I fill my vegetarian gel capsules with the powder. But the other day when I was doing just that, I noticed a non-food item buried in the powder. It was a plastic zip tie. And although I think the powder itself is probably fine, I’m not willing to take the risk and continue consuming it. Amazon refunded me immediately, but I have no way to contact the factory and let them know about this quality assurance issue.
