how long does the earbuds battery life when in use for straight call or straight movie marathon via phone?

I haven't used them for movies, but for streaming audio via my iphone — Apple Music — several times now.

My battery life so far has been around 5 hours and 45 minutes using streaming audio at around 55% volume (sound).

I've set my timer/countdown a few times when I've had a long listening session in order to really check how well the battery life has improved over the previous versions. I have the E8 Motion from last year (the 2nd Gen of the E8's) and those routinely get around 4 hours and 15 minutes.

So that is around a 135% improvement for this new model vs the 2019 model. Definitely due to the upgrade from Bluetooth 5.0 to Bluetooth 5.1.

By the way, I'm loving these! And—I have never had any connection problems with the earlier versions (other than occasional with the first version between two software upgrades...but that resolved within one week). I have purchased all three iterations so far. I really like the form factor and I LOVE the sound quality.

Is this compatible with iphone xs?? Mine is not showing on the bluetooth devices.

Yes. I use mine with an iPhone XS Max — just the larger version of your XS.
The INITIAL connection method is unusual.

You can check your booklet and/or their website help section, but basically:
1. download the app to your phone
2. launch the app on your phone
3. initiate pairing with the headphones & the app on your phone (do this IN the app)
4. #3 is very important to get these working!

After that you should not have any further difficulty

Is it worth buying the extended warranty

I have not needed the warranty at all so far. I'm on my third pair in four years — I've upgraded each year, AND each of my older pairs is still in perfect working order. They just lose battery capacity each year with the passage of time and usage. But I'm pretty sure no warranty will cover battery degradation, since that is simply a 'natural' occurrence and not a 'failure.'
Summary: Bang and Olufsen is a quality company who produce very well designed and manufactured products. I would expect they will respond properly to any warranty-covered problems, should there be any.
