Q: Do you have to immediately use up all of it once you've mixed the vial into the gel? How long does each bottle last?

Once you've mixed the vial of powder into the bottle of gel, it usually lasts a couple of months before the color turns. You will be able to tell that it's no longer fresh when the color turns brownish. It explains this on the bottle as well. I only use this on 2 of my dog's teeth, so a bottle will last a long time. For that reason, I like to divide the gel into two bottles and "activate" only one of them by using only half of the vial of powder. That way, a couple of months later when the color has turned, I throw out that bottle and I can mix in the rest of the powder and start again without wasting product. Overall, it's easy to deal with and does last a reasonable amount of time and you will know by the color.

Q: Got this today, it’s definitely not a gel, just liquid. Messy and may not be as effective. Have others seen this too?

I found the same problem. It's so watery that I cannot put it on toothbrush. Not a gel like the one I got from vet.

Q: Is it safe if the product turned green? I think it's color blue when i first opened it

The product is still fresh until it turns yellow or brown. The label says that "A blue or green color ensures freshness. Yellow or brown product has expired."

Q: How do you apply this?

I put it on my fingers and rub on my dog's teeth. This has helped to keep the plaque off his teeth...I also brush them.
