Buy The Christian Herb Gardener's Handbook: A Beginner's Guide Illustrated by Grimm, Meg (ISBN: 9781734786705) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Great read. I enjoyed the researched information with the Bible passage connections. It's good for those seeking to use more natural products and remedies but not delve into alternative lifestyles. Review: Author starts by sharing her story of falling into occult practices with herbalism, then getting out of it. She shares from a solid biblical perspective what is wrong with traditional herbalism, what buzz words to watch out for, etc. She is transparent and authentic. After this intro (which i found extremely helpful in many ways) she gets into simply growing and using plants. This book is exactly what i was hoping for. I already returned one that seemed great but had witchcraft in it. This plainly explains what to avoid and why, and how to use plants safely both from a physical and a spiritual perspective.

If you are looking for a well organized resource that will help you not only grow herbs but also use them effectively, this is the book you have been looking for. Meg Grimm does a great job writing in a way that invites the reader into her garden and into her personal experience. Providing faith-based practices that clear up misconcenptions help fellow Christians navigate herbalism and use them safely, both spiritually and physically. It's a journey that I was excited to take after reading Meg's work.

I wish this had a slightly more detailed description. I have been looking at medicinal herbs and teas but without all the “witchcraft” like many other books tend to lean. While this definitely is a good book if you’re beginning and I really like that it gives a recipe with generic “insert any herb here” instructions so that it’s not a book filled with 10 of the same recipe just switch herbs. I also wish it had more medicinal teaching. It seems they narrowed this down to like two pages worth of information which I could have just printed online. As a beginner who already did quite a bit of research. This should be $10-12 and not $22 because now I’ll have to buy another book for mid-level knowledge which I was hoping this would have and I would only have to buy one book I could reference forever.
