I purchased these to replace missing ones in an off the shelf shoe rack we had where the pins had gone missing. These pins fit perfectly in the original holes. As others have mentioned, these pins are probably 1/32" shy of 1/4", so are more like 7/32" in diameter, but that is the exact size that was used originally in my case which worked out. If you are buying these to use in pre-made furniture be sure to measure the diameter of the holes first.

These worked for what I was needing, and I don't think you can beat the price, but as others have said, they ARE NOT 1/4" x 1". Believe whomever's review you want, but I am one more person letting everyone know that these are labeled incorrectly - they are 1-1/8" long and they are closer to 3/16" then 1/4". If you want 1/4" dowels for a tight fit or can use no more than an absolute 1" max length - don't buy these. If you don't care that they're a little wiggly and have room to drill a little deeper hole, then these are a pretty good deal.

Bought these dowels for a friend who needed them to replace some original dowels that were in her mothers china cabinet. Said they worked fine.
