BMW F-Series/i3 Coding Cable (OBD to Ethernet) for E-SYS; OBD2, OBDII to RJ45

This cable works exactly as advertised. Seller sent the e-mail message with links to the instructions and software downloads. Of course, it landed in my spam folder (as expected), but it actually beat the next-day delivery of the cable by a couple of hours. By following the step-by-step instructions EXACTLY, I was able to make the coding changes to my i3 perfectly, and without bricking my car! I've read somewhere that if you are comfortable with making registry changes to Windows, you are probably skilled enough to make coding changes to your BMW using the supplied software and INSTRUCTIONS! I'd say that's about right. Love that I now have AM radio, REx hold state of charge function, expanded fuel tank (from 1.9 gal to 2.4 gal; even my ICE mechanic friends are scratching their heads over that one), and a few more changes that weren't really necessary but helped me customize some of the features to my liking. All for a fraction of a cost of what a coding service would have charged me. Thrilled!

Edit: Returning because it's not the right cable for my car (E92). I failed to read the details. The company gets 5 stars because of the quick replies to my emails. If this cable did fit my car it probably would be programmed the same day it arrived. Love that kind of quality customer service!Haven't used it yet. May not since they offer to remotely do the coding for $100, which is much less than having a garage do this service. Plus you get a map update! Still need the cable for remote coding, so I was happy to see the offer after buying with the intention of doing my own programming. I'm pretty excited to get my car situated to my preferences. The instructions are clear and neat and I'm sure easy enough to follow, but having someone else do it will be much easier for me. Will update my review after it's all done!

This is a tool not for the faint of heart, it will let you custom program your Older BMW/Mini ECU Setup the convenience features and more on you car without going to the dealer. But the best part is you do not have to give the dealer all of you hard earned cash. The down side is that you could kill the car's computer if you do not follow the instructions. UNDERLINE follow the instructions! The vendor BMWi3Coding makes sure that you know the dangers of messing with the cars ECU. and sends links to instructions and manuals to educate you, and make the mods easier to do.

Works flawlessly. The item description says that it will include links to necessary software, but it does not.

Software "cure" is needed which now asks for $50 donation. Manual is written to confuse users and have them pay $60 to have it set up remotely via teamviewer. Waste of time. All it takes just put those files together and write installation sequence. Instead it says "someone else host these files, I do not take any responsibility etc..."

Connects up and does what it's supposed to do. I was able to use my laptop to program some items on my F10 that aren't adjustable via the controls in the car. For example, holding the lock button closes the windows and folds the mirrors, changing the amount of time required to hold the lock or unlock button to roll the windows up or down, continue window auto-roll down or up if the door opens, unlock the doors when the engine turns off, blinkers in the HUD.

Works exactly as described and seller included a link to a digital guide explaining how to install and use the software. That alone was worth the purchase price.
