What r the exact measurements of the bags

They measure about 17 3/4 x 7 x 17 3/4. I constantly use mine. My only problem is getting my kids to return them when they've borrowed them. I need to order more.

Are the bags water proof (could I put ice in the bad and it not leak)?

I’m sorry I don’t have the answer, I’ve never put ice in them. I use them for grocery shopping, etc. they’re exceptionally strong bags.

Are these bags sturdy enough to hold recyclable cans,bottles and papers that will be later taken out to curbside containers? Can they be cleaned?

Yes as long as you don't overload them. Product details state that the maximum weight is 55 pounds. I use this size as well as the larger 32x14x13 tote to carry in groceries but also handy for loading up clothing or items to be donated. They are very sturdy as well as versatile. You can just wipe them clean with a damp cloth, depending what stained them of course.

Are these bags machine washable? If so, how do they hold up after being washed several times?

I would not wash them in a machine. They could be wiped down with a damp cloth or even soaped up and sprayed down with a water hose then left in the sun to dry but I’d definitely not try to put them through a wash. They are made of a similar material as a tarp.
