I wanted a warm cap with ear flaps and a sun visor for cross country skiing. This cap fills the bill at a surprisingly low price. It seems well made, and I expect that it will last for years. The only draw back is the size - too large for me. I think the description said one size fits all, but this will fit only those with larger than average head circumference. It has a strap in back to adjust the fit, but this works only across a very small range, not enough to work for me. I will have a band of felt sewn into the lining, in order to make it fit.

1. It’s a nice hat and, from a quality and construction standpoint, well worth the price. But there’s more to a hat than that. 1.). I wear a 7; with the ear flaps tucked inside the crown, the hat fits well. Ear flaps down or up outside the crown, then it’s quite a bit bigger, and the contraction strap on the back does nothing to shrink the size. 2.). I bought this hat for winter skeet shooting, but with the ear flaps down, I can’t tilt my head back because the ear flaps stop on my collar and the visor comes down over my eyes. The visor is nice to keep the low winter sun out of my eyes, and the occasional snow off my glasses, but the visor is placed too low (or the crown is too deep) and for my purposes, it simply doesn’t work. So- a warm, quality hat, but not for sports, I’d say.

I bought this hat mainly to survive the colder days, but it honestly exceeded my expectations. The wool material is warm without being itchy, and the earflaps are a lifesaver on windy mornings. They fold in neatly when I don’t need them, so the hat never looks bulky or awkward. As you can see in the picture, it really has a clean, stylish look — not your typical winter hat that sacrifices appearance for warmth. What surprised me most is how well it fits with my wardrobe. The sizing information is bogus. My head circumference measures 23 inches. This hat is supposed to accommodate head sizes up to 24.5 inches and it definitely does not. The strap on the back is useless. It neither tightens nor loosens and is purely decorative. Don't believe anything in the description relating to size.

This is just the kind of cap I wear all the time in coold and cold weather. Knit covered bill, back strap and buckle, good cap shape. Red option would be a nice fun option but colors are all dark. Last two photos show knit ear flap tucked inside the cap to reduce the cap size if needed. Pros: high wool* content, ear flap option, neutral colors (I bought navy and gray colors). *I hope the label is an accurate content description. Cons: knit covered bill might not be as durable as felt covered. Back strap is thin, looks and feels cheap. I hope it holds up to much use. I don't think I"ll need to make smaller to fit my head. I would buy more if the colors were more varied and fun.

Warm. Great fit. Easy adjustable strap. Brim keeps sun at bay from eyes. Keeps neck warm. Excellent purchase.

I should have listened to the bad reviews. The Hat is super HUGE and even adjusted to tighten with its strap at the back of the hat, it is still super HUGE. Let me save everyone's trouble. I measured the circumference of the hat at the maximum tighen allowable. It is 59.3cm (smallest circumference of the hat). I think a measurement guide or info would have been handy. Well.. i learned my lesson. So good luck everyone.
