Let me fist say I’m no locksmith. Not even remotely close. If I’m making entry into someone’s house, it’s with thors hammer, a halligan bar and axe, or a K12. I was quoted 450-575 bucks for 3 smart locks, three smart dead bolts and one dumb patio lever and dead bolt. This kit allowed me to rekey every lock in my house my two of my family’s entire house and my neighbors. This kit is almost everything you need to rekey your entire house and more. I was able to rekey all my Schlage smart locks and one rear patio Schlage keyed lever and deadbolt kit. The kit works perfectly for smart locks and deadbolts. The only issue the kit has is with keyed lever cylinders. My kit came with a follower that didn’t marry to a lever style cylinder. (Looks like a ducks bill) it’s still easy enough to marry with a some scotch tap at the connection just to be able to marry the follower and cylinder and push the cylinder out without the pins dropping and catching not allowing the follower and cylinders to come out. If you are going to buy this kit which you should for Schlage and kwikset buy a better follower. One that has the end for deadbolts and lever style locks. Maybe a better set of pin tweezers. The pin tweezers that came with the kit are a little wonky and not aligned correctly allowing pins to slide out from the tweezers. Watch some Schlage rekeying videos on YouTube and you will save yourself a couple hundred dollars.

This kit is awesome. Paired with some googling, I completely re-keyed my entire house. Seriously worth the money to be able to be your own locksmith. It took concentration and sense, but I was able to match my new front door with the key to all existing exterior doors. I also changed the lock to my ADU. The kit comes with more than enough options and some decent instructions.

All of the lock parts are excellent: the driver pins, the keys pins, the necessary springs, and so on. The kit is largely meant for rekeying existing working locks, but there are enough extra parts you can perform repairs if necessary. For example, you can replace driver springs or retaining pins that get lost or damaged in the rekeying process. The kit is light on tools. The brass follower bar is nice. The clip removal tool can clumsily push the retaining pin out of the way, but it feels like it's really meant for some other purpose. What's missing is a set lock pinning tweezers, which you can pick up separately on amazon.com for as little as $7. This kit would be 5-stars if one came included.

I successfully rekeyed three Schlage lock cylinders yesterday and the kit worked out almost perfectly. The only thing that didn't work so well was the clip removal tool. The "ears" on it should have been longer, as the current tool does not push the clip out far enough to grab onto it. Beyond that, I like that the pins are all in tiny zip-lock bags, and for my purposes they will stay in those bags until I need them again. It seemed pricey to buy this kit just to rekey three locks, but the local locksmith would probably have charged just as much to rekey them for me. And now I can do this in the future. The only other thing I would have liked in the set were tweezers for the pins--I had to buy that separately. With the addition of the tweezers it would be a perfect all-in-one kit.

I cannot recommend this item. The follower does not fit the knob and barely works for the deadbolt. There are no specific instruction and the kit does not come with a key pin gage. We moved and our house and had 13 knobs and deadbolts to be rekeyed. I got busy with other projects and lost the return window. When I did start to rekey, the first thing I had to do was buy a follower from another company for about $9. A pin key gage would have been helpful. In its absence I eyeballed the old and new key cuts and estimated the pin number. I was able to finetune the exact pin number by pin flushness in the pin housing. In the end I was able to rekey all 13, but this kit is nothing more than a set of 0-9 pins.

Worked well for rekeying several Schlage door knobs and deadbolts. Very easy to use. The only complaint is with the clip removal tool. It was too thick to push the clip off of the locks. The clip sits between two ridges just proud of the shaft. The clip removal tool has to fit between these two ridges to be able to push the clip off of the shaft. I thinned the tool on each side on a slow grinder and it then worked great.

Bought a new home, and rekeyed it myself. First lock took about 15 minutes, after that it took about 5 minutes per lock. Easy.

The kit is 90% good, but including the wrong green pins as the number four Schlage bottom pin was a killer. I didn’t catch it until it was too late and had to completely disassemble the lock cylinder as a result. A few pin springs got ruined in the process but I wasn’t worried because the kit included replacement springs, right? Wrong. The included springs didn’t properly fit the Schlage cylinder or the Schlage top pins. I ended up having to go find the correct pins and the springs from CLKs website. The infuriating this is CLK IS THE SELLER OF THIS KIT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!
