Why does the bottle itself not say cruelty free, but one of the photos of the product says Garnier is cruelty free?

No ingredients on the back of the fructose Hairspray. I cannot have anything with benzene. Does this product contain benzyl alcohol

is this hairspray able to be brushed out each night to keep from adding layers of it?

I wouldn't try this with the Extreme Hold. It's pretty stiff and would pull fairly hard on your hair. I would try this with one of the lower levels like a 3 or a 4, but not the Extreme Hold level 5. I actually use it because it holds my hair in place pretty well overnight. I only have to do a minimum of combing the next morning and maybe add a touch-up of spray. However, I have oily hair and scalp, so have to wash every 2-3 days and don't have to worry about too much hairspray build-up. If you're only washing once a week, then maybe go for a more flexible hold.
