My daughter sold me her 2005 Jaguar convertible and I was thrilled. It only has 48K mileage in mint condition and I enjoyed it so much all summer with my wife. I am 72 yrs old and this car brought back so many memories of my younger days. A week or go ago I went to the gas station and filled up the tank. Some time after I started up the car and the Check Engine light came on. OMG, all I could think about was the cost to fix this 16yr old car. I started reading how to get rid of my check engine light, looked at the Amazon reviews and I settled on this OBDII reader and it came in one day with prime. I Googled the location of my OBDII port and after reading the directions I plugged in the unit, turned on the ignition key and pressed the DTC button and the fault came up. The fault said major emissions leak check the gas cap. Sure enough the gas attendant had put it on wrong. So I installed the cap properly but how do I shut off the check engine light. Went back into the NEXPOW Screen, went into the engine settings, it again showed the fault and I was able to exit and go into erase the fault, clicked enter, reader said success. Shut off the ignition, removed the code reader, restarted the car and the Check engine light was gone!!! I am not a mechanic, I knew nothing about this device and I bet there are many people that have no clue such a easy code reader is available! This is a good basic reader at a good price. I like the large rugged design. Straightforward and intuitive.

Works really well with the exception of when I go to clear the codes it says failure to clear code turn ignition on.Ignition is on and when I unplug the scanner and then wait a bit plug it back in and no codes.So it does clear them, it just says it can’t.I also don’t like the fact that it doesn’t clear abs codes. I don’t have any abs codes but I’d like it to clear all codes on first try and tell me it cleared them.Would I recommend it, sure I would.

EXCELLENT quality! especially when considering the price! The scanner arrived in a nice (not crushed) box with an actual user manual. I don't think I will need it, but I hate when I buy something like this and if I have a question, there isn't something to reference, so I do like that it has a real (small booklet) user manual - Thank you! I appreciate that it is powered by the actual vehicle as well. No dead scanner batteries, if the vehicle has battery power, the scan tool does as well. You can leave it in a vehicle in the heat and cold and no worries about a battery for the scan tool. Overall unit feels durable, cord is not too long or to short. Simple, easy to use functions and buttons. It may not do what the $500 scanners do, but that's not practical to expect nor is what I need. Simple tool to check codes, clear them when needed. My truck was in limp mode (Reduced engine power) because of a jump start, so hooked up the scan tool, cleared it and was off in seconds. Overall, I am very pleased with this, and do not expect any problems. I will update if anything comes up.

After having some "check engine lights" issues, I bought this product, which caused me to borrow such a device from friends/neighbors.I bought a jump starter booster and was offered to purchase this item, and it was a great decision to add it.I've already had an opportunity to use it as my car had again, such light that turned on.The code was easy to read, and it also has a few other COOL features, such as live streaming data from the car's engine.Erasing the code was a bit of struggling as the process failed, and the reason for that blinked for a second and disappeared, so it took me some time to understand why it didn't erase the code. Still, eventually, I was able to read it, and it says to turn off the engine while erasing, whereas operating that device requires a working machine.But besides that - operating the device is easy and convenient.

This OBD reader is amazingly simple, extremely accurate, amazing for the price. I've had a code on my car for the past few years. Toyota couldn't get it off. No matter where I went it would not reset even though the issue was taken care. Plugged this baby in to check a few things, just like all the rest it showed an option to clear codes, Holy Dam! It actually worked! Besides code clearing it pulls up and finds codes that other readers didn't. It found a code that was not on a $300 digital reader that should have every code available. Saved me $800 by getting the part before it completely shorted out. Honestly, I am a real person, this is a real review. You won't go wrong with this baby!

I needed to pass car inspection, so a check engine light is a failure. I bought to verify that the issue was with the vacuum seal in my daughters ford escape, which this verified. Cleaned a sticking gas filler seal flap. Cleared the engine lights on the car. took to DMV passed ... life is good. Does this meter do anything special? No, it is not easy to navigate. the instructions are eligible. but for the price its ....adequate

I was a little nervous with this at the start because I wasn’t sure how it would work on my car. In short, it works brilliantly and waaaayyyyyy better than one I purchased a few years ago at HF. There are two key features of this that are fantastic:1. It has a very large screen. The pictures don’t do it justice, but for someone who has a hard time seeing when sticking their head under the steering wheel, you won’t have a problem. Screen is large, sharp, and clear.2. I’m a weekend warrior with respect to auto-repair. This gives much better output than other models that I’ve used which means less googling to find a solution.In short, for the cost and the features, you can’t go wrong here. I have a jumper that is the same brand and it is equally as durable and reliable.
