What is the maximum diameter? The description says 18" while the video says 24"

With the "extender leg" attached I am able to open the compass to a diameter of 11.5". I don't see how you could expand it to 18" or 24".

Can you use this with other drawing utensils like markers?

Yes you can use markers and pens and pencils. Built in there is a lead, but there's an attachment that lets you use any kind of writing pen/marker/pencil that is up to 1/2 in diameter.

What is the diameter of the lead? I need more than the standard black lead. Most compass's are 2mm>

This is also 2mm. Make one, there's plenty of cool compass plans available online. That's what I did for my trammel points (beam compass)
