Can you hook them up to your tv set

Like others have said, you need an amplifier to drive the speakers so they are best used hooked to a home theater system or an inline amplifier hooked between the speakers and your TV. Amplifiers built into TVs typically have just enough power to drive the TV's speakers only. Check your TV owner's manual.

Can you use these speakers wirelessly to hear audio from a laptop in another room?

They're just speakers, they need to be connected to an amp. You could connect a wireless receiver to that amp that could receive signals from the laptop. They can't do it on their own. They can't do anything on their own.

I bought the inexpensive Lepai amplifier for these. All I need is speaker wire and an audio cable, right?

yes just a speaker wire needed and the aux cables. Too bad though my one speaker delivered to me was defective. Very tiny sound coming out. I didn't bother to return it and bought a different speaker instead.

No these speakers do not have a USB connection. And you cannot connect them directly to a PC or laptop. You van only connect them to a receiver.
