Do the eggs stay closed once together or are the always falling apart?

These stay easily shut due to the actual shape of the pegs but they are also easy to open ^_^ great design plus the egg carton is very sturdy!

Are they big enough opened or closed so the can’t fit them in their mouths? Actual size of eggs closed and opened per half?

They are the size of a large egg. Never had any of our great grandkids put them in their mouth. Don't think they would fit anyway. They like the color/number matching ones. They are hard to pull apart and the other ones just fall apart. Kids like pulling them apart.

Is this product good quality and good to use?

Good quality. Good concept. The only issue is the colors. Not basic colors that you first learn as a child.

Match only the correct number with his correct number?

Yes, there are that many prongs on each side as the number. The eggs will only match with its color and number.
