They push a lot of water!
I have rowed boat for 60 years, great exercise! I like this they are light a flat. The blades are curved so they move a lot of water. My only issue is one of them bent when i was rowing like a mad man! The boat a few yards upwind of me broke loose and was heading towards my boat, my home at about 3 knots it was a Morgan 50! My boat is a Tayana 37. It was heading for my beam. I jumped in my dingy and rowed over to his boat and made his bow line that had snapped fast to my stern line and rowed like a mad man to save my boat in the process one of the oars bent at the oar lock. So far no response from the company

THE BEST OURS I HAVE EVER HAD!
Never had aluminum paddles. Thought I would give it a try but quite frankly did not think they would stand up. I am a big guy with a lot of upper body strength. I broke my last wood pair in rough water, a strong wind against me and the paddle literally broke half, it was 2 years old. I paddle, in season 3-5 times a week. I have pushed off with these, gone against winds, rough waters you name it, all they do is deliver. I can achieve significantly more power (speed) with these than any other oar I have tried. If you don't like these oars, you need to seek professional help. GREAT OARS!!!!!! By the way, also reasonably prices, no sorry that's a lie, they are CHEAP(inexpensive)!

Weak shafts, metal pipe is thin and will bend
I am a senior of 70, I'm not a superman. I decided to use the oars when out on my local lake in my small 12ft aluminum boat. In the boat was just me and one life jacket and a small 4hp motor (which is very light) so the boat was not overloaded. The motor quit so I turned to the oars to get me back to shore, upon rowing about 10 or 15 strokes I went to make another stroke and realized the right hand oar had a major bend or almost 45 degrees which made it useless. So there I sat thinking "now what do I do", so being the only boat on the lake I decided to try for the shore with the single oar. I made it but I told myself that the manufacture should have realized that these oars can be considered as a piece of life saving equipment and should be made to the highest standards to not fail when needed. My advice is don't count on these to get you out of trouble.

Oar is No Bore
This is a great oar at a reasonable price. The oar spoon/blade is solid, rigid, and slightly curved and appears very durable. Frankly the spoon is the heaviest part of this oar. The shaft is lightweight but sturdy aluminum and the handle is foam. I am using this with these oar locks Oar Lock Pin - Set of 2 by Sea Eagle Boats which tend to mar the aluminum a little if you don't tighten them up for sculling/rowing my canoe. The nice thing about the length and lightweight nature of these oars is that you can us the oar as a paddle for a SUP - Standup Paddle Board. Highly recommend this oar.

Very sturdy
I expected these to have a thin plastic blade but they are thick and very sturdy.

Broke at the pivot upon first use.
Ordered two which came in two gigantic boxes. One of the two broke in half while out on the water. We were close enough to shore that I could get out and push us back in, but I still had PUSH US BACK TO SHORE!

SOLID OAR!
Excellent Oar! Should last for years, solid, can push off of shore easy with no give or any signs it would break. The plastic is THICK and heavy and shaft is solid and can't see it breaking. I have two for my row boat but can't seem to find what I need for the rings. CAUTION: DO NOT buy the "Sea Dog 582060-1 1/2" Clamp-On Oarlock" that is recommended or "frequently purchased with" as they do NOT fit this oar.
