Have tried fresh, freeze dried formulations. This is far superior. Convenient and easy to use.

Interesting, but weird tang uncommon in other powders
Perhaps I received a randomly bad container of this powder, but it had a very strong and strange tang after I tasted it. I only tried a small, tiny pinch to gauge the flavor before I added it to a cream-based sauce, but I am glad I did because it didn’t taste right. I ended up using another maitake powder that I had a little left in its bag.Packaging was minimal but it arrived in fine condition. All seals intact and no noticeable damage. I dunno why it has such an off-flavor compared to other brands I have used in the past.

Doesn’t taste like mushrooms
I returned this product. It tastes nothing like mushrooms. It tasted like ground up wheat bread or cereal.
