I have a very active lifestyle, with runs, hikes and weight training, and while I'm still young (early 30s), my joints (especially my knees) started to feel slightly uncomfortable. The Healthy Origins Eggshell Membrane is a decent natural source of chondroitin, hyaluronic acid, collagens (ingredients that I look to supplement my diet with, not only for joint support), but I find it doesn't work as well as synthetic joint supplements for me; but I do think they are worth trying by people who want natural supplements or have allergies to other substances used in joint support supplements. I have noticed some small improvements in joint comfort, flexibility and mobility, but nothing too impressive. The pain in my knees reduced only a little, it didn't make recovery after runs easier. I felt that I got better workouts while taking these, from the slight boost of flexibility and mobility of my joints. My fingers/knuckles and neck become less stiff (I have a desk job, lost of keyboard usage). I also noticed `cosmetic` improvements. My skin felt a little more hydrated than usual and my nails grew faster and stronger; I actually got slightly better results than with Biotin. It might have somewhat helped with my dry eyes, but I'm still debating that. It took about 1-2 weeks to somewhat start feeling the results. Any improvements disappear fast when I stopped taking these and I could definitely tell then that these supplements did help. The capsules are easy to take (somewhat smaller than regular vitamins, but not tiny), do not cause acid reflux or stomach issues even when taken without food. I didn't actually noticed any bad smell with these, although I personally don't sniff my medicine.

I take Tegretol for seizures and one strange but rare side effect of this medication is a Vitamin D deficiency. This is pretty much incurable with supplements. As long as I am taking the medicine, I have the deficiency, but it's either that or seizures. Low vitamin d levels has led to some CRAZY joint pain, leaving me feeling like I have early onset arthritis. Sometimes, I found it hard to walk, and stairs would leave me nearly in tears. It's hard to get your doctor to think you're not overreacting when you're 33 years old and complaining about symptoms typical to a seventy year old, so she simply prescribed more vitamin d and calcium (which is not an issue for me, I LOVE milk!). Did not help. Did my own research and learned about eggshell membrane. This was the lowest price with prime, and I have the best luck with Amazon fulfilled items, so this was the brand I tried. Within hours of talking two pills, I had nearly zero joint pain for the first time in over two years. It had gotten so bad that even my thumbs and wrists would hurt. No pain now. I can't wait to get back into better shape, have adventurous sex again, go hiking, ride roller coasters and everything else that the pain has kept me from. For now, though, I'm just happy to be able to walk up a flight of stairs and feel nothing that makes me grimace and wince. I can't say if this brand is better then any other, but as it works, I think that's what counts. And trust me when I say, if it works for me, it will work for you.

It is hard to say if this product is working or not, considering that it is supposed to improve collagen around the joints, which cannot be seen or easily experienced, especially in the early days after use. Nevertheless, I'm on my second bottle and intend to continue to try this for at least a year.
