Great for ornaments
I was worried about the other reviews saying these break, but I haven’t had any issues with mine. I used them to make miniature Christmas ornaments for gifts. You definitely can’t torque the bolt down like you would with an actual embroidery hoop. IT IS NOT AN EMBROIDERY HOOP. You can’t expect it to behave the same. Be gentle with it, use fabric glue to secure fabric if you want it to be more permanent. The inner hoop is actually a solid piece so you wouldn’t work in this. You would use this to display only. I do like that it comes with two circles of wood - one to secure fabric in the hoop and a larger one to cover the back. I’m planning to purchase these again, and make some jewelry and keychains.

Love these!
So cute for earrings and necklaces! Made some for myself, given several as gifts and plans to make more! 😍 friends & family love them! Unique, handmade gifts! I embroidered several of them on a bigger hoop, cut them out (bigger than the frame size to wrap over the edges), then put them in the tiny hoops and glued the backs on. I also added tassles on the earrings 😁 They've held up well so far!

Some hiccups but overall good quality
I ordered this product in Fall 2023 and received the item on the right. I enjoyed the brass hardware look as well as the bigger workspace. When I re-ordered in Fall 2024, I received the item the left. It's a small workspace and now silver hardware. Also the hole for the bolt is farther down the wood, which is making it hard for me to attach the loops to turn into earrings. The frame itself is also wider. So while the product is sturdy and looks nice, it's not quite what's featured in the photos of the ad anymore.

far too tiny and flimsy to work with. instructions are incomprehensible
It's a total waste of money. The instructions are written in broken English and are impossible to understand. The hoop material is too thick yet flimsy to secure embroidery cloth within it, and the metal pieces are far too tiny to maneuver.

Product has changed
This product has changed in the last few months- and not for the better. The hoop used to be thinner, which would allow a bit more space for your artwork. Now the hoop is much thicker thus not allowing as much room. The hardware is silver now, instead of the nicer bronze before. The hole in which the hardware goes is lower down making it harder to turn these into jewelry. PLEASE go back to the older product. These are trash and I fear I won’t be able to buy them anymore. I have a small handmade embroidery business and I used these so much, this is so sad.The old product was perfect, please listen to your customers on this and switch back to the old supplier.*For those complaining about instructions- just go to YouTube, there’s plenty of videos there, it’s really not hard to figure out. The bigger circle is to cover the back of the hoop once finished, you glue it on. The smaller circle is for your work to be secured to. These hoops are not to actually work inside of like a regular embroidery hoop. They are simple a frame for work that is finished in a larger hoop then transferred. They do not break easily unless you’re man handling them, so be gentle with them and they’ll be great.

Good quality
These are so cute! I saw some reviews saying they broke when putting embroideries in but I think people who are having that issue are treating these like normal tension hoops. You can't tighten them like you would a normal hoop because there's a wooden circle inside. Tightening them with the inside piece is of course going to snap the wood. The tension part of these hoops is entirely for the look so if you just screw it in gently you wont have an issue!

Shoddy and also stinky
As other reviewers have noted, the wood smells really strongly of smoked meat. I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of that issue before giving the completed gifts out.Additionally, the hoops are quite thick and chunky. With the addition of the back panel, the entire piece is about half an inch thick. Contrasted with the delicate embroidery I'm framing, the wood overpowers the visual weight of the thread. The edges of the hoops are stained a dark brown, which is fine, but also means to match, the front of the hoops and the entirety of the back panel and its sides need to be painted as well.Overall just a pretty shoddy product probably OK for some cute applications, but not for displaying delicate artwork or gifting.
