I gave it a 5 because it was fun and beautiful. Great learning experience for kids and really fun to find treasure. Quality for an expert would be lower but for what we wanted it was perfect. We got 27 pearls of various sizes colors and qualities the nacre or mother of pearl on the shell was beautiful aswell as two pearls attached that are permanent on the shell.

I had read several reviews about bad smelling surprises but when I opened mine the large clam was dry and there was nothing smelling bad at all. I found pearls that ranged from creamy white to soft beautiful pink ones. They weren’t very big but they are very pretty. Some were worth turning into jewelry. I definitely will be ordering more. It was something that would be very special if done with a daughter, granddaughter etc or on a special day such as an anniversary celebration.

I liked this product. Warning the smell is terrible the smell made my nose burn and my eyes water. Got about 31 pearls out. Fun to do. Beautiful pearls of purple white and pink. Also if u rub the pearl in the palm of ur hand it makes it shiny, due to the oils on your skin.

The add and the pictures of this clam are misleading. The clam was about 4 inches. So pretty small. Once I opened it up, I found only 10 small pearls. Not worth the money or time. If it was a 8 inch or bigger, maybe but not this one. Not happy with it.

This made for a super interesting and fun learning experience and activity to do together with my 7 year old daughter. The smell was not bad at all and there were at least 10 small to medium size pearls inside that my daughter was able to extract from the flesh. We also cleaned out the shells to save as a display dish.

"Life is like a box of chocolates" that meaning is very true with Pearl Parties. You never know what you are going to get. With this pearl we ended up getting 29 pearls 28 of which were only 1-3mm in size with the last being 5.2mm. But that is just part of playing the Oyster Pearl lotto. Sometimes you get really lucky and get full sized pearls and others you get only a few total. Thats what makes it fun. if you want the perfect pearl just buy the pearl, buying an oyster is having the fun of opening them and seeing what you get. I see many people thinking their oyster is "rotten" but that smell is normal and is part of preserving the shell. Its best to open the bag and wash it right away and then soak it for 5-10 min in mild soapy water and then use gloves when opening and harvesting. If you are sensitive to the smell do it outside. But this was fun to open and my daughter is doing a pearl party for her 10th birthday next month and we will be buying a couple dozen for all her friends to open and make jewelry with an underwater theme. Will buy again.

We opened the shell and were very disappointed at the size of the pearls inside. They might even be too small to be drilled out.

Es una ostra grande y solo venían 23 perlas, 5 de ellas grandes y la mayoria rosadas y pequeñas. No tenía olor. Para mi gusto fue un buen obsequio.

It was fun to open kinda disappointed in the sizes of the pearls very small

Got it as a Christmas gift.It was fun. 28 assorted sized pearls inside. I was prepared for it to be wet or smell. There was none of that.

Very misleading description and photos. Tiny pearls, some flat, some with marks right through, and not many at all. For the price it was very disappointing
