Is this item compatible with the 7th Generation iPod Classic?

If your 7th ipod classic is the old thicker iPod Classic 160gb released 2007 - 08, it will Not suitable for it; But if your device is 160gb ipod classic released Sep. 2009, it is will fit well. Thank you.

Will this fit the 5G 30GB ipod classic?

It did not fit my iPod classic very well. It wouldn't close over the top for some reason. Don't recommend.

Can this case be used as a sort of kick stand when the top is flipped backwards?

Not very well. Also, my recent experience with the case has not been good in regards to the belt clip. I needed a replacement. The first I got was missing a screw in the clip attachment and would not hold. It took a while to get the new unit replaced. Unfortunately, the replacement had a similar problem. So I have two cases that don't clip on. I've resigned myself to carrying the case in a pocket or fanny pack when I want to go for a walk or run with my IPOD. I am disappointed because the original case worked so well.
