This is the perfect replacement rear axle bumper for my 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 and my 2004 Cadillac Escalade EXT. The old rotten rear axle bumpers popped right out and these new parts popped right back in. I used a flat bladed screwdriver to dig out the remains of the old, crumbling rear axle bumpers and used the same tool to help insert the new parts into the mounting cup on the truck frame. The mounting cup has tangs that hold the part in place. There are no bolts or other fasteners involved. Perfect fit. Easy repair.

The old ones were deteriorated and came off in small pieces. I replaced them both on my driveway without jacking up the rear end, by just reaching in. I sprayed the mounts with silicone spray and I rubbed lithium grease along the edge of the bump stops before installing them. Stick the furthest edge in first and use your thumb and upward pressure to push in the rest. It pops right in. Five or six tabs hold them in place. No bolts or nuts to remove.

I previously purchased 2 front bumper stops and one looked like it was sitting in a window and the sun had discolored it? Same with these 2 rear bumper stops! One looks like new the other has a strange discoloration on one side like it sat in the sun a long time!!! Indoor Florescent lights can do this also if it sits on a shelf a long time! I think the discolored one may fail sooner because it's been weakened by UV damage!? These things are expensive for what they are!

Perfect fit for 2000 Suburban 4wd. After struggling to push them while lying under the vehicle in my garage, I decided put a thin layer of Mobil 1 Synthetic grease on the outer edge and use a 3/8" ratchet extension to push them in. That did the trick. I can't believe what a difference it made to have intact bumpers again after riding around so long on the originals that were pretty much gone.
