Works Well (but wasn't the problem)
The real problem was the wire and/or connector to the sensor.

97 7.3 Powerstroke
Product worked perfectly. I was having a few minor issues. The CPS started to fail slowly at first the truck would shutdown if the horn was used. Then it started to idle slightly off every 5 seconds the tach would rev ever so slightly but nothing very noticable then as time progressed it became harder to start the truck, which i though was due to <40 degree temps. If you have these symptoms change your cps because one day it started shutting down over and over without even hitting the horn, barely made it home. After changing the CPS my truck runs smoother, starts up immediately without even warming the glow plugs in cold weather and most the most noticeable change was accelerating from a stop. My truck used to buck before taking off and now its very smooth. Most people wrote that you need a 10mm socket to remove the old but my truck had a 1/2in bolt. Im not the first owner but the original owner had the CPS changed under warranty by ford so it was the second generation gray CPS so maybe that is why it no longer had the 10mm bolt? Just a guess. Good luck its not hard to change but its tight and wear googles!

Genuine Ford Motorcraft CPS Sensor for 7.3Powerstroke!
For the price of getting a Genuine Ford Motorcraft Sensor you can't beat this!!!! My 2000 ford f250 4x4 7.3 powerstroke started to have a slight shake to it during idle almost like a miss but not a miss if that makes sense. I could notice it alot in the shifter sitting still with the clutch in or out, but anyways got this sensor this evening and swapped the old one out in about 10 minutes and fired it off and that little miss was gone thankfully!! Thank you for selling Genuine Ford Motorcraft sensors!!! Sure makes a world of difference for us Powerstroke owners that don't want to let these dinosaur diesels die lol 331,000 miles and counting!

It’s a genuine ford part and my engine seems to idle smoother. Possibly better fuel economy can’t be sure though. Not seeing more power either Keeping a older spare with me probably will never need it as this is the 3rd update ford has on this part
