Very well written
This is by far the best comprehensive book on Mnemonics out there. Keep in mind that doesn’t mean this book has everything, it means that it’s well rounded system is presented, it is complete. From speed reading, to note taking, memorization of specific topics, how to relax when stressed about a test.I had previously read O’Brien’s “How to develop a brilliant memory” which is somewhat of a workbook compared to this one. That book moved very quickly. The explanations are longer. When reading, you get the feeling that the author took his time, this book feels like a labor of love whereas “How to develop a brilliant memory” was made more for people who are impatient and want to speed through things. I can’t stress how well written “how to pass exams” is. If you want to enjoy good literature while learning, this has got to be at the top.The organization is better than “How to develop a brilliant memory”. In his other book he started off with acronyms, visualization, etc, then went into speed reading and note taking. Here he starts off with speed reading, then note taking, and on. The organization is very conducive to learning and building upon previous chapters. Some things not included are discussed well in books written by Cal Newport. For example, if I teacher lets you have an hour to complete a test and your done in 30min, the spend the next 30min double checking your answers. Cal Newport is not big in mnemonics for some reason, but he writes very good books. This book does not contain all of mnemonic technique, and I would suggest you read every book on memory you can get your hands on. But with that said, buy this book, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

like every other O'briens book
The main body of information in the book does not differ from any of the author's books I've read, but if you are not about to start a collection, it's great. Good tips, techniques are well described, useful. The size of the paperback version and quality of paper are perfect, too.

Helpful
It teaches you lil techniques that might sound silly, but when you apply them and understand the method behind the madness it actually saves you problems memorizing certain things. I've read two Dominick OBrien books, so far I've bought 4. Without reading the remaining two, I can say this is the best of his books,

Saved my studies
To understand a little bit, I've always been a good/middle student but the final exam of my studies was known to be very hard (quantic physic a little, light and optic, and a lot of "know by heart" things). And indeed, I failed twice lol. Basically, we had to remember 2 binders of 3kg each, 30 chapters. The final exam consists of 30 questions the morning, and 20 the afternoon of in-depth redaction and explanation and could be everything and anything.I used a lot of methods to remember. Useless. Then I discovered Tony Buzan, and Dominic O'Brien. I started to read another book by Dominic and found this book. I read it once, then twice, then after that, I used everything I could from the book and applied it to my studies (remembering numbers, graph, everything). And I have finally been graduated with a very good score.I am not lying if I say that this book completely saved me! Now I still use the methods for everything I want to remember and learn.A BIG THANKS to Dominic for writing this book! He saved my studies.

It's a great book, and came to me under perfect conditions!
In a simple way, Dominic talks to us about his tips for an efficient memory for exams. It has a general aplication, being not specific to any type of knowledge. It' very good.

Great read, innovative approach
I loved the authors approach to teaching his memory techniques. His attempts at condensing his methods were very thorough and applicable to many different subjects.

Great for boosting memory, not exam specific
This is a really good book on how to increase your memory, especially lists of things and numbers. However if you want to relate it to an exam, that is dependent on the type of exam you're taking. Memorizing lists of things will be very helpful, memorizing concepts is a bit trickier however. Definitely one of the better books on improving memory though, since I've read more than a few!
