Gentle and Effective Support for Hairball Control
This Vet’s Best Cat Hairball Relief Digestive Aid has worked well for my cat. It’s easy to administer and seems gentle on digestion. Since using it regularly, I’ve noticed fewer hairball issues and less coughing or gagging overall. I like that it’s vet formulated and designed to support digestion while helping manage hairballs, rather than just masking the problem. My cat tolerates it well and has had no issues taking it. Overall, this is a helpful and reliable product for cats prone to hairballs. It’s easy to use, effective, and a good option for ongoing hairball support as part of regular care.

Lifesaver for my cats during shedding season — gentle and effective!
I bought this Vet’s Best Hairball Relief Digestive Aid a few months ago after one of my cats started coughing and hacking frequently due to hairballs. After doing some research, I wanted something natural, veterinarian formulated, and easy to administer without upsetting my cat’s sensitive stomach. I’m so glad I found this product! First of all, the tablets are a great size and are easy to crumble if your cat doesn’t like chewing them directly. One of my cats eats them like treats thanks to the chicken flavor, while the other is a bit picky, so I crush the tablet and mix it with a little wet food. Both methods have worked perfectly. I started noticing results within a week or so — less coughing, no more hacking noises, and overall they seem much more comfortable. What I really appreciate about this product is the ingredients. It’s made with Slippery Elm and Psyllium Seed which are known to be natural digestive aids, and I feel confident giving it to my cats regularly. I usually give them the tablets during heavy shedding seasons like spring and fall, and the difference it makes is obvious. The price is also very reasonable for how many tablets you get (180 per bottle). This bottle will last me months even with daily use for two cats. Plus, I’ve seen no side effects, and both of my cats have tolerated them very well. In short, if your cats suffer from hairballs or seasonal shedding issues, this is definitely worth trying. It’s effective, gentle, and affordable — exactly what I was hoping for. I plan to keep this on hand year-round from now on. Highly recommend!

An Honest Review
Get ready for a lengthy review but I promise it is worth it! So I am writing this review after using this product for a few months now, I wanted to wait for a certain period of time to pass to see if there were any results after using this product and I can assure you that there was! So for context: I own two beautiful cats that I have rescued that have two very different personalities, one sheds like there is NO tomorrow and the other one does not. Of course being they are both cats they love to clean themselves, quite literally all the time which resulted in hairballs. The one who does not shed near as much has a few health issues involving his stomach and nasal cavities, both of my cats have extremely sensitive stomachs so I wanted to find a product that could work for both of them equally without causing issues! The picture above is three different products I use including the one that I’m currently writing the review on. This product has done wonders for me and my fur babies! This product alongside the other ones I have bought reduced the amount of hairballs I was experiencing, keep in mind that I was experiencing around 2-3 hairballs every other day but definitely 1 hairball every day. As I’m sure many of you know, coming home after a long day and having to clean hairballs out of carpet is not an easy task to do. After a few months of using this as well as trying the other two products featured in the picture I have seen a significant improvement from both of my cats! So here is my routine and what works for me: in the morning I use a pill crusher to crush the pill and put it into each of their food bowls, I mix the pill fragments in with their food. Then in the evening time, I squeeze a few drops of the liquid product into their food bowls. Neither one of them have had issues with eating their food since I’ve started all of this, in fact I’ve noticed they seem more excited to eat! One of my cats LOVES treats while the other does not, so sometimes I will drop the treat product into the pickier one’s bowl so that he will eat it while I feed the other one the treat product at random since he will eat it on the spot. Of course I highly recommend consulting with your veterinarian if you have one for more information in regards to your pet’s health and or condition!

FINALLY!
A HAIRBALL TREATMENT FOR OUR PICKIEST CAT. She detests the tube-lube types (at least six), politely left Mark&Chappell's DeFurr-Ums on her plate, is not inclined to eat (even the best) cat grass, and is insulted by my homemade concoctions. A SIDE NOTE: These tablets are the flying saucer/nickel-size and beige colored ones, not the "changed" (for the worse) ones some reviewers received under the same product name. BACK TO THE REVIEW: Our picky girl has been on Vets*Best Cat Lube/Hairball/Digestive Aid product for about two months and only one hairball. And that one came during the first month, during which I did not double-down on the dosage for existing hairballs. Considering that we took no particular grooming efforts and she is a medium haired domestic variety, these tentative results are excellent to outstanding. And considering that I "underdosed" her a bit (1 1/2 tablets per day instead of the recommended 2 tablets), the results look even better. A SIDE NOTE on dividing the tablets: they divide in half fairly easily but might provide a good pre-screening test for arthritis. BACK TO THE REVIEW: I plan to reduce the dose to 1 tablet per day and see how that goes. My ideal dosage would be ONE serving a week; I consider daily servings unconscionable. Another reason for experimenting with low dosages is to get a cost comparison with another product (M&C DeFurr-Ums, also reviewed) that our next pickiest cat is on. Both products have about the same number of pieces (60-65) but the VB recommended dosage is twice that of M&C (2 tabs daily as opposed to 2 treats every other day). If I could keep our pickiest kitty hairball-free on one (or less) tab a day, I might consider switching over to VB completely for all four cats and use M&C as a backup if needed at some point. Good plan but probably flawed: I cut the 2d-Pickiest down to one M&C treat every other day and that has worked for two months, which still leaves the effective dosage of VB (for us) at least twice that of M&C. Plus M&C is cheaper (about $5 to $8 for VB) and M&C is also available at Petco stores and online. This raises a philosophical question: Why could not Ms Picky simply have preferred M&C and avoided this dilemma? So I am probably stuck with two different hairball remedies for the long haul (unless I undergo surgical removal of my "cheap streak"). Anyway, it is okay, because I have (did I mention?) FINALLY A HAIRBALL TREATMENT FOR OUR PICKIEST CAT. SPECIAL NOTE ON DOSAGES: See my review of either RENAFOOD or RENAL ESSENTIALS for more information on the RELIABILITY (including label dosages) of supplement products. UPDATE: 2d hairball showed up today (little over two months in) before I got around to cutting her dosage to one tab a day. One hairball per month is not bad but tells me that the reduced 1& 1/2 tab daily dosage is not quite enough for our cat. Would the recommended 2 tabs a day keep her hairball free? For now, I am switching over to Pet Naturals Hairball chews for cats for the next couple months. I'll get back to this Vets*Best product later and compare all three products. LAST UPDATE: I finished by trial of PN (and continued with VB but switched it over to other cats). Take a look at my separate review of PET NATURALS HAIRBALL CHEWS that concludes my comparison of all three products.

Old formula was GREAT. New formula takes more than twice as many pills to do the job.
*** UPDATE April 2016 *** Downgraded from 5 stars to 1 - would be 0 if I could. This new formula doesn't do the same job as the old formula. I was using a 2-to-1 ratio, meaning 2 of the new tablets when I used to use 1, but that isn't enough. I'm trying 2.5-to-1 PLUS 1/2 tsp Hairball Relief oil from Pet Naturals. One poor kitty developed pretty severe constipation as I was switching him over to the new formula (probiotics and extra oil helped). I used to crush the pills and dissolve them in water. They loved the "drink" it made and drank an extra 2-3oz water with each meal. Critical for kitties with renal issues. They also did something similar to their urinary tract support formula. I bought out all the old formula of that I could find. Now I have to do that with this stuff. I have no idea how I'm going to get all the water in them they need now. It's very dry here in California and our kitties have renal issues. This stuff was a godsend that helped both their kidneys and their coats. This is terrible. *** UPDATE April 2015 *** First, the company must be reading the reviews. The pills are still the same size but are now soft enough to break them in half with your hand. Even better, though, having to use the herb crusher for these pills resulted in an amazing benefit for the kitties. We have 2 cats with UT and renal issues, plus it's just been so dry here in CA, so I add water to their canned food. They won't drink it unless I flavor the water. I was using tuna, but that wasn't ideal because of the salt. Mixing the powdered pills with the water results in a "drink" they LOVE!! Our vet has been very impressed, and no more of the dry hacking and dry, itchy, skin! This may have saved our oldest kitty. I couldn't be more thankful. *** Original review *** Bought the first bottle to try and our cats loved them. I bought 2 more and found out they changed the formula. They're much thicker and harder than they were before. Our cats couldn't eat them anymore! And these are very big cats - 15lb and 18lb kitties. They're too big for my pill splitter, so I had to get an herb grinder to first crush them before the cats could eat them. It takes a lot of time and strength. The old pills could be easily broken up with your fingers if needed. Bring back the original formula!

Truly works!
I am very happy with this product. I have a Siberian cat and she is a clean freak with her coat. She started getting constant hairballs and would end up swallowing them so it was a never ending ordeal. I tried a highly recommended product that you have to put on their paws which was a nightmare. She absolutely hated it and after 3+ weeks it didn’t seem to be helping anyways. I was to the point where I was about to take her to the vet to get a prescription. I decided to do some more research and came across this product and thankfully it actually works. I break up the pills into four sections and she likes them more than her treats. It did take about a week to notice they were helping and then another couple for the hairballs to be gone all together. I would suggest this product to anyone who is dealing with hairball problems.

Good but my cat stopped eating them after finishing 1 bottle
This product does work when your cat actually likes to eat them lol. I give it 3 just bc they are a bit big for my cat and when i split them up into smaller bites she still seems uninterested with the taste and smell. She finished the first bottle just fine but now on the 2nd one she got bored of the taste. Id love if yall could inhance the flavor/smell to something more appealing to a cat for a longer period of time. Love the product though💗
