Yes there are slots for paper money and coins. I use the phone pocket for the paper and the zipper for the coin. I love this wallet, it is breaking in very nicely.

Q: How does the top stitching look? Sometimes it can make things look tacky if it's not made well. Is this nice/classy looking?

Top stitching does not stand out and is perfectly straight. Every time I pull this wallet out of my bag, I'm so happy because it looks so nice. I think it's looks expensive and the leather is beautiful. I bought the tan and it looks so expensive. Love it!
