Pricey, but we love them with schnitzel. Can find on other sites, but after shipping Amazon is a better deal if you buy the 5 pack. Note it says 10, but it’s 5 packs with two portions (cups) per pack. So about $7 per meal.

This is a wonderful dish which tastes just like the potatoes in German restaurants. You slide it out of the pouch, fry in pan, and presto, done! Sometimes I chop or slice onions and add to it, and it does fine also.

Good product, but ingredients seem to be changing.

I used to buy these from the GermanDeli in Texas but am very happy to have found them now on Amazon. They're a bit cheaper and having them on Subscribe & Save it's free S/H, of course. These "Bratkartoffel" are simply the best. Very easy to fix and always great tasting. My family loves them! They're seasoned just right and actually fry up very nicely with just a spray instead of oil or butter. I spray them a couple of times when I turn them over and they always come out perfect. Great with bacon and eggs, fried chicken and even a steak. Sometimes, for a quick meal, I add some Italian Sausage. I fry the sausage first while braking it up amd then add tje potatoes. Very delicious!

I got these in april and the exp date was "12.9.14"(remember that in europe the date ios opposite then ours meaning first its the day and then the month). so the exp date on the ones i got were 12 of december. but.....i used these even six months after and they were great :-) the way i use these is simple...........i heat a pan and add some olive oil and the potato and add fresh ground black pepper AND one tbsp of a german style potato seasoning called "Edora Bratkartoffel Gewuerz"(you can order it online at germandeli.com and other places). and then stir and fry it until golden. at the end i sprinkle dried parsley flakes and thats it. yummyyyy ::-)

These potatoes are not bad; good in a pinch. It's not something I'm likely to buy again, but maybe they would be good for an emergency food pack.
