Have had an issue for some time with the check engine light coming on stating evaporative emissions leak, the tighten fuel cap notification would come on periodically, then the check engine light would come on and it said high purge flow. I replaced the part with this new one and no more issues at this time. It's only been about 3 days and 240 miles but the issues before were quite regular and would have shown up by now.

Don't buy this or any automotive parts on Amazon, half the time the products are defective. Check engine light came on in May ran the code and replaced this part. Didn't fix the issue so I replaced the evap canaster. still did not correct the problem. Finally took the car into the dealer, they inspected the vehicle and said the part was stuck open and had a massive vacuum leak. The GE part costs $80 dollars. Purchase at your own risk. I'm done ordering automotive parts from amazon.

Fit my 2006 Suburban with 5.3L motor. Check engine light hasn't come back yet, but haven't driven more than a few times either. Hopefully this will keep the P0442 code away. Didn't have a vacuum pump to verify the old one was bad. But since this part was cheaper than the tool, I just replaced it. Hope all the YouTube videos pointing to this part were correct. Took about 5 min to install.

It was a simple install and the price was cheapfor the task that it has to perform keeping the emissions down. The scanner still says its not ready for smog as im waiting for the ecm to make changes but listening to the exhaust it quieter and i dont smell the rich mixture any more. As soon as it reboots the ecm it may be ready to smog but the ck engine light is off for now
