Well worth the spend
I just started reading this book but I am already impressed with the information it contains. I had heard about the book through a webinar on e-learning by the STC and I would say that the first chapter has already paid for the book itself.

Excellent for Instructional Designers!
I used this book as text for my Master's program. I have over 15 years of instructional design and teaching experience and I was skeptical that I would learn more from this book. This book exceeded my expectations and I have recommended it to my colleagues. It provides realistic techniques and proven methods of creating clear and relevant course materials. In fact, I have cited information from this book to help prove the designs to my internal staff and our clients. The results were great. It is well worth your time.

Bello
L'ho preso per dare un esame all'università. Era tra i libri consigliati.Ero un po' spaventato per la lingua inglese ma devo dire che la lettura è stata abbastanza facile.

A Helpful (albeit thick) Resource for All eLearning Designers
NOTE: This is a textbook and it is written like a textbook. The content is 5 star worthy, but it could be condensed to half the size, without the layers-upon-layers of research and references (of course that's what you'd expect from a text book). It would be great if someone would produce an infographic (or two) on the core concepts and practices. I found the book extremely insightful, particularly when discussing cognitive load and the contiguity principle. It's on my bookshelf, and I use it as a reference tool regularly.
