The shoe is comfortable and light. Best work boot I've worn

This is my 5th consecutive pair of these boots. Needless to say I love them. I typically get new ones every year, but after looking back at my orders to my surprise I started wearing the previous pair pictured in may of 2022. I’m a city worker- so these boots experience ALL seasons M-F 8hrs a day. I’m on my feet for all of those 8hrs. Constantly walking through salt piles and snow in the winter, ditches filled with water in the spring, a ton of walking doing landscaping, hardscaping and construction in the summer, tons of walking blowing leaves in fall. I have abnormally large, wide feet for my height so I am picky about boot comfort. These are the best pair out of the handful of “big name” boot companies for comfort. Longevity: realistically these could have been replaced after one year or roughly 15 months of use. On the side of the boot near the ball of your foot where they crease does start to crack (see pics). This eventually lead to water leaking. In the same area where the tread kind of wraps up around to the side of the boot started to peel up a little bit. Tread/ traction/grip? Never an issue to this day. They are comfortable out of the box and only get better once they break in. Sizing: sizing is weird to rate but these seem accurate. I wear anywhere from an 11-12 (depending on brand) in shoes. Sometimes wide in the smaller range of those sizes. An 11.5 normal width works great for me with these. If it weren’t for the cracking on the sides letting in water after 12-15 months I’d still be wearing these boots for what I’d imagine up to two years. Well worth the money, I highly recommend these!!

After 3 months of moderate wear the lugs are tearing loose from the soles of the boots on both boots. The boots were noted as running true to size. I found the toe box to be too narrow and had to exchange the boots for the next size up. I have tried other caterpillar boots and found them to last less than a year. Will look elsewhere for my next boots.
