I needed 2 peep holes for the 2 exterior doors in my home. With 1,000+ listings on Amazon for peep holes, i thought I was going to have to read just as many reviews before I decided which to buy. I knew I didn't want to spend more than $10 each, so that narrowed it down a bit. I finally choose this one (I think it was an Amazon best seller or something similar) but only bought one just to make sure it was what I wanted. It arrived in just a few days and was in perfect condition. No scratches, no dents, no cracks. It unscrews easily into 2 pieces, so you can slide each piece in from either side of your door and screw it back together, and tighten in your door. It states to use a 9/16" drill bit (or spade) on your door to install peep hole in. I didn't have one on hand, but did have a 5/8" spade bit. I used this and it installed easily. The 1/16" difference made little difference. There are even 2 slight notches on one end to help tighten it up in the door. The wide angle does work, and gives you a nice wide view of your porch, or whatever your view might be. I was able to see much more than I expected. The peep hole cover on the inside is a nice touch, although you can not see inside when looking thru peep hole from outside, so like double security for that if it concerns you. No one is seeing inside thru this peep hole. This is an extremely good buy for $8 bucks. For $8, you get piece of mind when you're able to know who's knocking on your door late at night BEFORE you open your door. For me, that's an awesome deal. I just ordered the second one for my back door. If a little more security is what you're looking for, and you can't afford one of the new video door bells, and can't see who's knocking without opening your door, this should be a must for you.

Fits perfectly, easy to install, looks great

I eye balled the drill bit size. Pushed the outside end in first. Tight fit, so was no need for a dab of caulk. Screwed the inner piece. Was too long for my door, but works fine. Only complaint is the lack of clarity. I’m putting this in the category of get what you pay for. The item is on the cheapest side of the scale. Self advertised with Togo stamp.

This door-viewer is what you're looking for. It's well made, easy to install, and provides a perfectly clear wide-angle view.I researched a variety of door-viewers and initially had my mind set on the larger viewfinder type. However, none of the versions available on Amazon were the right color. Once I came across this product, I realized it was the next best option.As many of the other reviewers have stated, this product has excellent clarity. I didn't realize this was a unique characteristic until I read reviews of other similar products. This door viewer operates well and the cover moves smoothly.The only part about this product I don't care for is the etched name "Togu" on the user-facing side of the cover. It's an eye-sore but honestly I only felt that way when I initially installed it. I haven't noticed it since then and the pros of this product well out-weigh the cons.For the price, it's an incredible value. I doubt there is a better option on here at the same price-point. If so, I was unable to find it.Do yourself a favor. Stop looking around and just purchase this one. I received no discount nor incentive to purchase this or leave a review. We are using this indoors on our master bedroom door. For security reasons we keep our bedroom door locked at night. A few times we've had an alarm sensor on one of our outside doors fail and give off an alarm. Not knowing whether or not it is a false alarm, we had no way of ascertaining if anyone may have actually broken in without unlocking and opening the door. With this peep hole viewer we can see what's going on outside of our bedroom without unlocking the door. With the wide angle view we can look up and down the hallway outside our bedroom. It installed very easily, and looks very unobtrusive. Despite that fact that it is impossible to look in the other way, the security cover was a plus for my wife. We are VERY happy with this fairly inexpensive door viewer. (HELPFUL HINT - you may need 2 small flat blade type screwdrivers to tighten this during installation - I had a simple solution, a watch case removal tool that had 2 adjustable flat blades that worked perfectly.)

Although I have a camera doorbell, there is a significant lag time when someone rings the doorbell and when the phone app lets us see who is at the door. The door viewer is no-tech solution for seeing who is at the door before you open in. Then if you don't know who it is, you can still talk through the camera doorbell to determine what business the visitor has. The privacy cover was my wife's requirement to prevent someone from looking back in through the viewer.Installation was simple. I determined the proper height for the viewer, then drilled though the door with a small diameter drill bit to make sure I knew where the hole would be on the outside of the door. This allowed me to drill through the fiberglass door skins from both the inside and outside to ensure there would be no splinters (since the drill bit isn't pushing through the outside door skin). The two halves insert through the holes and thread together easily and fit the 1-3/4-inch-thick door perfectly.It works perfectly with a great wide-angle view and acceptable distortion. We are pleased with our heavy-duty door viewer.
