NEW YORK SHUK Preserved Lemon Paste, 10 OZ

I have found it hard to learn how to manage preserved lemons. This does it all for me and I find I use it on a lot of things as a brightener of flavor. Put some on trout fillet cooked in papillote last night, excellent.

I use this to make the lemon dressing that cava used to have. If you google "cava lemon dressing recipe" one of their facebook posts will come up where they posted the recipe to it when they stopped serving it, and this is the product they used! Just add some olive oil and fresh lemon juice, and voila! Absolutely delicious! I'm giving the product itself 5 stars because it's awesome, even though this order arrived broken and unusable (amazon refunded the cost to my account).

The lid on the lemon paste was loose and the paste leaked all over the pasta that was in the same box. In addition it was raining heavily and the box, including the pasta and the lemon paste was very wet and soft. I can’t use either the paste or the DeCicco pasta and had to throw them out. Another box of pasta in the delivery was wrapped in plastic and was not affected by the mess.

I really enjoyed using this for a nice upgrade taste.

Can someone tell me what the consistency should be? I'm worried as there are so many damaged jars, and mine just arrived and it is fairly runny.Thanks!

This is a wonderful cooking ingredient. I tend to add a good amount of lemon to my dishes. It’s perfect if you want to avoid adding too much liquid like you would by using lemon juice.I bought three of these. One wasn’t closed properly and leaked. I deemed it unsafe to consume and threw it out. Unfortunately, i wasn’t able to return it.

Beyond doubt, this is the absolute WORST lemon imitation that ever appeared on themarket. It bears NO relationship to the taste/flavor of an honest-to-goodness natural lemon (Meyer or otherwise!) --- whatsoever. The label claim referring to the contents as lemon 'paste' borderson FRAUD.

…and foods delicious. No additives, just traditional food as medicine:)
