Like you, I read the reviews and felt a bit discouraged by the people who were saying that this hole saw is cheap, only good for a couple of uses, etc. However, I only needed to use it twice, so I figured I'd take my chances. Well, I wound up using it three times, and folks, I have to tell you: It works just fine. No, you probably won't "pass this down to your grandchildren" as another reviewer said, but who in the world passes something like this down in the first place? I mean, how often do you REALLY need to cut a 4.5 inch hole? Probably not often. And if you ARE going to be doing that on a regular basis, then don't be a cheapskate. Invest in one that costs 50 bucks. For the rest of us, though, this works fine. I don't expect to use this product again, but if I do, I'm sure it will work great.

I bought this hole saw to cut holes for 52 slim LED panels. A 6 inch hole saw is a bit too small, and 6-1/4 inch hole saw is a bit too big. This one was just right. 35 of the holes got cut into sheetrock, which shouldn't be any big deal for any hole saw. But 17 of them got cut into half-inch OSB soffit material. The teeth on this hole saw are cut just right. This went through the soffit material with ease. I was using my 1/2 inch chuck brushless Makita 18-volt cordless hammer drill I won't hesitate to buy this one again when the time comes for a replacement

I bought this because I needed a non-typical exact size to install so accessories and instruments in a boat. It worked perfectly in epoxied wood, fiberglass, and aluminum and still seems undamaged. I am not saying you could chuck this thing in a boring mill and run factory production with it, but for personal use it is accurate to size, cuts well, is robust, inexpensive, and does what I need it to do without problems. It will last my lifetime.
